A lot of players are……until they sign for us.

The point being, they are not exactly getting much bang for their considerable buck are they, in Championship survival? As I’ve said numerous times, we are not and nor will we ever be Stoke in terms of support, investment etc, so the idea of championship football for us is fanciful and always has been.

Not going today even if I could (thanks Sky). The ‘competitive/must-win’ games have been bad enough, so goodness knows what this will be like, worse than watching an England friendly I imagine. It feels like there is a dark cloud over the club and it needs shifting pronto. So I think this will be more like the funeral and less the relegation party. I’ll probably get a Season Ticket next year, although I have to admit to being a little disappointed at the lack of incentives. After a season as rotten as this one - now actually worse than Bruno / Brown if you can actually believe that - surely a complete reset is needed with some form of attempt to get a toxic / divided / disinterested (remember only 900 went to Burton) fan base to back the Team. Knowing Vale we’ll win 5-0 today.

180 minutes??? What about the other 3,960 minutes we’ve had to ensure this season. If your definition of having pride in the shirt is the players running round like they give a sh!t for the final 180 minutes of the season then congratulations, you’ve got the club you deserve.

I admire your optimism but you are, I’m afraid to say, living in cloud cuckoo land. There’s every chance it could be another Barnsley. Any team who has anything remotely impersonating a decent striker can and invariably does score against us. And it’s not as if we’ve got a fantastic record there. We even tried our best to cock up our last win there…. It’s incredible to think you can have a ‘nervous’ last 20 mins at 6-1 up. But hey, that’s what comes with following the Vale. I’ll stick my neck out and say 5-0. First goal within the first 10 mins, and at least two coming from corners. I’ll check at 4.55. Enjoy.

The worst thing is that the result really didn’t surprise me. For all the huff and puff there was no structure to anything we did.l, just hoping for something to drop. Did Uche or Loft actually win anything tonight vs their CB’s?? I think not. Both looked like they belonged in the Ansells League. Utter gross.
