  1. I know Moore hasn’t exactly set the world on fire but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, this isn’t his mess. I would say he’s come across a bit ‘nicer’ than I imagined. I thought he was a bit spikier tbh (he certainly took no prisoners when he played) and that he set up his teams to get stuck in. That said, I just don’t think we haven that in the squad. Maybe him being ‘nice’ is because confidence is low and he’s tried to re-build, who knows? If so, it hasn’t worked, it’s too late and so maybe a few home truths need dishing out. In league 2 I’d like us to recruit big, athletic players and/or players with that big of edge, who get stuck in and most of all hate losing. Players like, dare I say it, McKirdy (though obviously not him!). We need leaders, not shrinking violets, and certainly players who are physically robust, not ones that disappear for 3 months after a kick on the shins. There are players that always seem to cause us problems - like Winchester yesterday, Piergianni, Keillor-Dunn etc (though arguably the same could be said of Loft). I’d like to see us trying to dictate teams at home, even in the promotion season I didn’t think we were great and often looked wide open in midfield (I’m thinking the Swindon home game with the infamous Cov incident). We need to utilise one of the biggest advantages…. the size of the pitch. We’ve given him another 5 years so we must have trust him. As long as Fraudcroft sticks to cleaning the bogs in the Robbie Williams suite and lets Moore choose his own players, I think (hope) we’ll at least stem the bleeding next year, though I don’t expect an immediate bounce back if I’m honest. And please, please, please, please….. for God’s sake, can we not view the January window as ball of Kryptonite and try and learn from past DISASTERS and at least have a bit of a strategy for it.
  2. The form table suggests there isn’t much “value”, so I’ll stick with “deadwood” I think.
  3. The only thing I’d question is keeping Ripley. Really good goalie yes….but a desire to want to get too involved in games ‘complicates’ things. Plus keep Debrah, seems one of the few who gives a sh!t???
  4. He’s doing well is Flickers, must be due a payrise 🫣
  5. Of course. How silly of me. This is Port Vale FC we’re talking about. Our club moto should be ‘why shoot yourself in one foot when you can do both’??
  6. P/T to F/T?? So he’s had even more time to think about transfers and this is the best he’s served up?? Priceless.
  7. I agree. Exactly the same for me. I sacked it off to make an Apple Crumble for a family lunch tomorrow, that’s how angry, frustrated, disenchanted (insert own adjective) I’ve become this year. Crumble. Ummm. The writing was on the wall from the word go…. no team should lose 7-0 and in hindsight, the flakiness we saw from that team has been prevalent since, especially since Ollie & Alfie went. For me, the kick up the arse should have come in the aftermath of the Boro game. An historic, massive, winnable game for the club and one of the most abject, lifeless performances I’ve ever seen since the ‘rabbits in the headlights’ 6-0 at Villa Park many moons ago. So here we are. We’ve been sleepwalking back into L2 for 18 months. The number of times people like myself and others have been derided for being naysayers when it’s been as clear as the nose on your face. Flitcroft will take us into the National League, I’ve no doubt about it. One word…. Bury.
  8. You’ve got two of the letters right..
  9. Second bottom, 11 games left, 8 points from safety…. ”I’ve not even thought about relegation” ”These players are phenomenal”
  10. “I’ve not even thought about relegation…”
  11. Does it say…… Dear Supporter, Sorry that we have failed so dismally in the last 4 transfer windows and that this has finally caught up with us meaning you’ll be suffering trips to the likes of Sutton, Crawley and Swindon again next year. By way of an apology, help yourself to a free hot chocolate or Fanta during today’s game because we’re all in it together. Yours, Flickers
  12. The slow motion car crash that is Port Vale 2023/24. Can’t wait for the next instalment….
  13. Don’t entirely disagree….see answers above 👆
  14. He’s in a no-win situation. The squad is completely and utterly useless. I repeat… THIS SQUAD WOULD GET RELEGATED WITH PEP GUARDIOLA IN CHARGE. We have players who, physically, aren’t up to the challenge of 2 games in a week. We have players who have downed tools because they know they will be gone in the summer (note “the injuries”) We have players who are being asked to play out of position because we literally have no-one for that position. We have players who, quite frankly, are not good enough. The squad is an absolute mess from top to bottom. Jackson Pollock has nothing on Flitcroft. Moore has little option but to play the nicey-nicey cliched interview card. We still have a mathematical chance of avoiding the drop so doesn’t want to completely alienate the players. Whilst the reality is that we were as good as relegated on 2 February, fans need some hope to cling to for next year, at least show some fight. What would you do?? Publicly criticise the team and owners?? Maybe if he wanted an early pay-off and to keep his reputation in tact because this isn’t a basket case of his making? Or maybe, just maybe - and I know this is rare in modern football - DM is a man of integrity and is eyeing a fresh start next year with him re-shaping the team for a promotion push?
  15. I haven’t heard his interview. I was a massive advocate of his. I think he’s done a very good job at most of the clubs he’s been at, other than Huddersfield, so thought I’d be a solid appointment. I cannot blame him one iota for the mess we are in. The squad is utter garbage…worse than Bruno/Brown. However, I’m worried that he’s the right man at the wrong time i.e. on the wrong end of an horrendous run at Huddersfield and not had time to reflect on where it went wrong there. I do think, in hindsight, Steve Evans would have been better and was there for the taking. Hindsight eh…
  16. I’m done with this season. Absolutely garbage. That I suppose is the luxury of not having a season ticket, thanks to Vale’s admin cock up in shifting is from Bycars. Stupidly, I probably will get a S/T next year because it’s a PITA at the moment getting 3 seats together in the Hamil where your view isn’t obscured.
  17. Dwight Gayle scoring. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t happening to us. Ex-Stoke. Absolutely pillared for being an overpaid, overweight, out of form mercenary. We were clambering for him to sign as our saviour. He signs for Derby instead but is initially lambasted for being an overpaid, overweight, out of form mercenary. Scores his first goal for Derby against….. yep, Port Vale.
  18. Correct me if I’m wrong, but am I right in thinking that we’ve not had a shot on target against Derby this season?? #norelegationonmywatch
