The first domino of this nightmare fell when we got beat 2-0 at home against Pboro live on sky on Jan 16th last year, that was the start of something like an 8 game streak without winning. It went on and on until they sacked DC in April, which I think based on the information available to me was the wrong move, but I don't know the inside story. Earlier I started to work out how toss we'd been for the last near 14 months, since that Pboro game, to compare it all the way down to the regional Isthmian leagues at step 8, regional divisisions where Popey plays for Witton Albion and Malbon for Kidsgrove. Made a spreadsheet with functions and everything, to automate running the numbers quickly. I gave up after getting down to the northern prem and working out how much more consistent Atherton Collieries and Morpeth Town have been than our professionals on several grand a week as I started to rock back and forth in place. Harrison, who we effectively swapped away for Loft, scored 11 league goals, nearly 3x as many and given his injury record, works out to be 1 in 3. Loft's last season was over double that. This season it's 10x that, he's on 1 in 30. God help us.

That doesn't really acknowledge the statement from Synectics themselves. C&K formed a holding company in October that as of the latest records is the majority shareholder in the business, they were both terminated as a 'person with significant control' in Nov so you'd think they'd sold some of their shares to it. Companies house isn't yet updated to reflect how Synova have/will invest. They've accepted investment into Synectics, not sold it off. They will still be there running it and being invested financially in it. While they may well have sold shares for cash, there isn't a cheque in the drop box in Natwest in Newcastle high St with £180m written on it made out to her and Kevin, fans need to be realistic.

Synectics hasn't been completely sold, it's been invested in by a VC firm to provide capital for growth. Key word invested, they'll want a return on it. Out of the top 3 leagues of every country with a professional league system. Thailand, Wales, Cyprus, El Salvador, Indonesia, literally worldwide.

Now 142/144 for points earned since September. We picked up the same amount of points, 16, between 12/08 - 16/09 from 7 games as we have done ever since, from 26 games. If Rotherham and Dover both draw or win on Saturday then we go 143rd because we'll get embarrassed away at Derby. Our recruitment is outstanding though. I found an easier to query stat website btw. Including step 8, the Isthmian leagues where Canvey island play, Vale are Joint 222/229 for points gained since the wheels fell off after Northampton at home in mid September. I could go further and compare against the additional 158 clubs in the regional divisions at that step which would include Hanley and Newcastle town, but I think the stats as listed above do enough to show just how outstanding our recruitment has been.

Another deeply impressive stat from throwing away a 2-0 lead with 88 minutes played tonight. If we don't beat Orient on March 12th then we won't have won a Tuesday night league game for over 2 CALENDER YEARS. The last one of the season is mid April, rearranged Wycombe. The last time we won was April 5th 2022, Salford. Fail to beat Orient and it'll be over 2 years without a win, at the very least.
