  1. They know better. Apparently. 08/12/23
  2. Enjoy Bromley on a February evening with no strikers again, super-fan 👍
  3. Unfortunately, someone saw fit to give Ojo a contract until June 2026.
  4. Correct. Leicester away was a free hit for relegation battling QPR today. Guess who won. I guess their players didn't consider it a free hit.
  5. I'd have done this as a comment on another thread but you can only create a poll with a new thread. Very simply - will you renew your ST, or otherwise regularly attend our very exciting L2 campaign featuring Bromley and Crawley next season, if Flitcroft is still in post?
  6. I wouldn't keep winding yourself up by running the numbers. It isn't going to happen. It was done when the window closed.
  7. Can I just preempt the seal clapping deluded clowns on thewonderofyou etc who'll open their ministry of propaganda defence of Vale and Flickers tonight with "well, what did you expect with Derby at the top of the table" QPR were second bottom. They're winning away at league leaders Leicester, who are 25 points clear of 7th, and are now up to 19th. That's what a relegation battle should look like if you don't recruit gutless dossers.
  8. Thought about this and changed my mind. I still want the <ovf censored> to get relegated regardless, simply for the damage it'll do to the club. You have to think big picture.
  9. Vale need to tighten up at the back here or we might lose this.
  10. Please pack it in with the tedious true fan <ovf censored>.
  11. Can he out-knnobhead himself compared to Accrington away? Stay tuned to find out.
  12. What she demonstrably does during recruitment - latch on to the first name she's told and become instantly enamoured. An open letter from Carol | News | Port Vale WWW.PORT-VALE.CO.UK During my first manager search, Colin Garlick introduced me to Dave Flitcroft. (Actually, Flitcroft says he applied for the managers job, readily found in a youtube interview on Vale's channel) Dave and I spent over four hours on our first call talking and discussing ideas around football and what a good football club should look like. Dave understood the football industry inside out and aligned with my values. The only issue was Dave wasn’t working in football and had no plans to be. He had stepped away from football to be with his family. He was working alongside his brothers in their family business and spending more time with his wife and three sons. I knew that Dave was the right man to help me build this football club towards where I wanted it to go. I asked Dave to be my Director of Football on a part time basis. He went away to think about it. I didn’t want anyone else to be in this role and I still don’t. Port Vale fans may be alarmed by Carol Shanahan's Darren Moore reveal FOOTBALLLEAGUEWORLD.CO.UK And in what appears to be a worrying case of history repeating, she told fans: “We had a Zoom, and we had three hours on the phone, me and Flicker, and him and his agent, and we had three hours on Zoom, and we talked about Port Vale…And he rang back and said he wanted to come and I couldn’t believe it, I absolutely couldn’t believe it. We didn’t go after anybody else because we went for him first…and I said we are so grateful to have him.” Vale fans may be alarmed to hear that just as when Flitcroft was hired, there were no other candidates listed, considered, or interviewed. Neither does it appear that anyone else other than Flitcroft, a man who has already hired and fired two managers, was consulted in the process. The former Sheffield Wednesday boss has a strong CV but surely due diligence needs to be done on other available candidates before an appointment is made. Supporters may also question how the budget accommodated a five-and-a-half-year contract for Moore, who undoubtedly has good League One manager credentials, but couldn’t stretch to afford a much-needed striker just days previously when the transfer window closed.
  13. Don't need strikers when we've got midfielders, remember?
  14. When it eventually turns? We've won 3 games in nearly 6 months. We're long past when.
  15. Yeah, it was live on sky. We were uncharacteristically poor that game if I remember right, may have been 2-0 down at HT? His goal away at Rotherham around christmas that season is a near carbon copy of the one RL unfortunately pulled wide on Tuesday.
  16. Truss, Flitcroft, you know how to pick them Warren.
  17. The first domino of this nightmare fell when we got beat 2-0 at home against Pboro live on sky on Jan 16th last year, that was the start of something like an 8 game streak without winning. It went on and on until they sacked DC in April, which I think based on the information available to me was the wrong move, but I don't know the inside story. Earlier I started to work out how toss we'd been for the last near 14 months, since that Pboro game, to compare it all the way down to the regional Isthmian leagues at step 8, regional divisisions where Popey plays for Witton Albion and Malbon for Kidsgrove. Made a spreadsheet with functions and everything, to automate running the numbers quickly. I gave up after getting down to the northern prem and working out how much more consistent Atherton Collieries and Morpeth Town have been than our professionals on several grand a week as I started to rock back and forth in place. This <ovf censored> club, man.
