I can’t see how this is no more guess work than myself predicting home fans will go down to 3-4k next season as we sit in the lower half of division 2. By your reckoning we will be pulling in around 5,000 home fans next season which I cannot see.

A lot of predictions are guesswork as was the post I was responding to which said that our gates will not decrease much even if we get relegated. It’s a fair presumption we will go down rather than total guesswork and even said I am guessing when estimating the current drop in attendances, which I’ve just checked and we are 11% down on last season home attendances and 29% down on away following, so I wasn’t far off. Plus I never gave any reason why attendances have and will continue to drop, I just predicted they would so get your head out of your ass and post something useful rather that might actually agree or disagree.

Very true… people miss players if we don’t replace with better. It’s DF’s fault the club is not moving forward, the bench mark wasn’t very high to find better replacements for Benning, Harrison, maybe even Cass yet we miss them because our recruitment has been garbage.

Yes he was. You maybe right that he needed cover but we didn’t for a good chunk of the time, so maybe for your reason or maybe not he was naff for the Vale for the good majority.

Benning played well for a fifth of the games he played for us, for 4/5 he was crap.

Absolutely no way will we build a squad good enough to challenge next season with DF at the reigns and Moore as manager. We will average over 4000 throughout the season but there will be games with around 3,000 home fans next season when we are lingering near the bottom. To say our support won’t dip much is crazy, gates are already going down, people are fed up. Without seeing the attendances I would guess we are 20% down on last season and 30% down on away following, I predict at least the same next season unless there are serious changes.

More accurate than your guesswork that crowds won’t dip much after relegation. They already have, which goes to prove your guesswork is pretty <ovf censored>.

That’s what we will get if we are and unless we manage to improve our squad drastically we will be, and improving the squad will be difficult once relegated as we will lose some of our better players.

I wouldn’t say gates from 6,000 home fans on average down to 3,000 home fans means that the vast majority will back the team. I would say it is more like half the fans will continue to back the team when we get relegated and are sitting well down the table in division 2.

Releasing Benning was the right thing to do, not having a better replacement was criminal. I’m a massive fan of Worrall, but the same could be said for him, although I think he could have still played a big part for 2 seasons. Releasing Pett was absolutely stupid, especially as it was to make way for 2 loan signings, where are they now?
