The general rule is, if you are paid weekly you give 1 week notice, if paid monthly give 1 month notice.

With any job you could just jack, but could loose money such as holiday pay and week in hand money.

Just walk out and don't go back. You'll never be able to work there again, but that doesn't sound too much of a problem.

Blimey! Most of our rosters are 12 hour shifts for a total of 84hrs per fortnight i.e. Wk1 = 3x12hr shifts, 4 days off; Wk2 = 4x12hr shifts, 3 days off.

 

Blimey indeed. I constantly moan about my job (not on here) but am on a contracted 36hrs for a salary (which I would never let my boss know) is 'quite nice'.

I can tell you Bon Ami that our 12 hour shifts are very well paid and include other allowances :)

Comply with the contract of employment because you need to maintain your good standing and may need a reference.

 

55 hours sounds in breach of the working time directive unless you waived your rights by signing an exemption.

 

Even so I would leave with a clean uncontroversial break. In some circumstances that can be achieved by negotiation. Only you can judge if that is likely to be possible.

Do what you want , most places don't even ask for references now a days as half the time they don't get a prompt response

Well done, and walking straight back into another job you're not loosing out money wise, though if it was getting you down that much its worth standing a loss.

i start work tom at 07:30 am and finish 17:00 friday it does contain a sleep n but only if clients allow you to sleep. i do 66 hrs approx per week plus 3 sleep ins
