Not a fan of this as the sentinel is a good example people rate it negative but then there is no comments. Its just open to abuse and make people feel bad about what they post.

So a "cack post" "rubbish" "get a life" post response is better than a thumbs down response?.... or is it that you cant respond to the thumbs down and defend your opinion?

To be fair you "divs", i read this on my phone and as the almighty one said, u can't view it on the phone! A rating system is not usually a thumbs up situation, its a series of stars where you would rate the post. If you had been more clear to us phone users.in the first place, we wouldn't have this situation where people like memphis look like complete and utter weapons! ;)

Has it proved your point?..... there are posts after yours, they may have given you the thumbs down but chose not to comment directly.

Yeah it did. At the end of the day a forum is for people to express an opinion on something. Non of the posts after mention mine in any way so not sure what you point is. The Sentinel's issue for one, is that there is a bloke on there that can comment the same as others, but gets loads of red thumbs down. Its open to abuse and means that people can rate negatively just to be difficult.

I always thought that that is what the tinterweb was invented for.

The Sentinel ratings may be "open to abuse" because that they open to everyone and are cookie-based (so if you refresh your cache you can vote multiple times).

But OVF's ratings are one vote per registered users only, so it's not open to abuse, actually.

You may not like the system but not liking it doesn't make it unfair. ;)

More clear? The front page article stated "The feature is currently only supported on the main “desktop” forum style and may not necessarily work on the mobile forum, Tapatalk or OVF apps."

How much "more clear" do you want?

Tsk! ;)

People rate my posts on the fact that I am friends with a ex director. What he has done is nothing to do with me but I am abused all the time over it and its allowed to happen. This is another chance for people to rate the person not the post.

I disagree. That's your opinion not fact. After all, it could equally be argued that people are using the thumbs up/down to rate whether they like posts. It is stereotyping a lot of OVF users to claim that the only reason your posts are rated is due to some vendetta and not for any other reason.

Won't that clash with this website's new post-match feature where we interview the matchday officials... "OVF with the Ref" ???
