Anyone else worried about us going forward? Yes we were punching above our weight tonight and burnley didn't get out of 3rd gear - but did I feel we struggled going forward. We scored off a fluke and the half chances we created we didn't take. There keeper made 2 good second half saves but I'm worried. It feels like Popey would need half a dozen chances to take 1. Doddsy?? Was he ever in the game? Prefer Vincent just behind and JMW on the left. Still we are where we are and we're all Vale so roll on Saturday and I can shift the fat lump out of my season ticket seat

Sorry but I dissagree!

Agains lower opposition we will create and score, especially if we play like we did in the second half.

Pope will come into his own now he has Richards role in my opinion.

I do think that Burge, if he keeps fit, could be key to our success!

Strangely I came away from a 3-1 defeat full of hope. If we play in the league like we did in the second half last night we will overpower most L2 teams. It looks like MA has got everyone playing more football this year instead of humping it forward and I think players like Burge and Morsey could be surprises packages this year. I would still like to see Loft in centre midfield alongside Suker.

It doesnt matter who the opposition is!! we didnt take our chances becuase our forwards are not good enough when it comes to finishing. We created enough chances against a championship side last night to score 2 / 3 but we couldnt convert these and it will continue to happen regardless of who were playing. Time will tell and i hope im wrong but right now that is how i feel.

Ermmmm yes! Dodds didnt score yes granted good stops from the keeper but he is paid to put the ball away. Popey played well with what he did, won flick ons, held it up and laid it off well but at the end of the day he is paid to score also.

yes in my eyes, in the hole behind the target man. Is dodds classed as an attacking player whos role is to create and SCORE or as a defensive player to try to stop them scoring?

its all about opinions, good save by their keeper though to deny him

Last night was the first time that I have seen Burge play. I thought he looked very useful and is a definite asset in midfield.

I agree that we need a striker desperately but we won't be able to sign one while we are in administration. I thought that the tactics in the first half were a bit questionable. We seemed more than happy to let them have the ball at the back and let them pick their passes. The only problem with that was that their midfield players were far more comfortable on the ball and far more mobile than ours, so it wasn't the best of ideas to concede so much possession unchallenged. We were better in the second half when we pressed them higher up the pitch when they had possession.

Just my thoughts, feel free to disagree!

on one performance i am not at all worried, ask me in December

its not 1 performance though is it Deano. you take Richards out of the picture the last 2 seasons at least and the current players we have just dont score enough. i think we've lost Dickinson who will find himself a better move i.e more secure club. could do with a Purcell update. is he still involved with us?
