The first season to break 5,000 season tickets was achieved by Bill.

It lays the benchmark

Was it 5,000 or 6,000 as you just said 6,000? And wasn't that achieved by Michael Aldridge?

That was more to do with Micky Adam’s than your ****** bratt

Port Vale are capable of 11,000 fans (before away supporters)

5,000 in the paddock

3,000 in the Lorne street

3,000 in the Hamill

Just set the right price. Also, the club could actually offer a season ticket holder the right to bring a guest by paying an increment.

Its about promoting the club to people who haven't been able to afford it one way or another. I don't see this vision from the club with their recent price policy for the new season.

Then along came administration.

Let's be brutally honest, harking back to target 5,000 where they sold at £183 for adults back in 2008, we all saw how that panned out on the playing side.

By September Sinnott was sacked, by April there were barely 4,500 turning up and that included pay on the day and away fans.

For me it's important we get the product on the pitch right with the budget we have before we go slashing prices and reducing income.

Raise money yes, increase numbers yes, but not by reducing revenue.

1956 was the last time we got gates of over 11,000 average

And how cheap did they have to sell them to get that many compared to 5500 season tickets we are currently getting at full price?

They were £183 quid, and by Christmas no bugger turned up as we were getting toasted every week with Glover in charge and budget busting Kevin Gall up front.

Re season tickets, unless the club show some serious intent on getting in a few better players then 5k will not be reached. Chesterfield are showing intent ! Are we going to ? Or are we going to mop up the dregs at the end of the window.

Did we manage to get 11k home fans against Swindon?
To be fair as much as Mr Killer is just winding things up a incentive or 2 for new fans is something I’m suprised we ain’t looked at

The consensus on the club is always to rely on a cup run to generate revenue.

As a result, progress suffers and standards generally drop in league matches. It happens every year.

Vale are doing nothing under this owner to generate a vision for the future. They are happy to plod along with 5,000 die hards!

Sorry yes, the average I was referring to was the entire season.

There's no greater incentive than to watch a winning team is there really.

We know we have about 5,000 solid core fans with around a further 3,000 that come and go.

It's about making those 3,000 commit to coming more regularly, and I think we're on the right track with the fanzone and matchday experience but yes there needs to be a better discount maybe on the 1876 club, and attracting in the stayaways.

We won't get anything if we play like we did last year, sorting that is the ultimate priority.

Sorry just can't see us hitting 5k ! To many disillusioned fans at the moment.  Incentive required.
