I looked back at that miss today and I still can’t understand what he was doing.

At no point did he do anything right. He’s got distance between him and the defender. Come across his line then open up your body and bend it past the keeper. It’s pretty basic stuff. But he just runs straight.  Runs some more. Runs a bit further. Until he can’t run anymore because he’s ran out of pitch. And then prods it out for a goal kick. It wasn’t even Sunday morning stuff. It was utterly embarrassing. He also makes a mess of their equaliser. Go back and watch his involvement on the line. 
 

It’s actually frightening that people go and do a hard days work for 12 quid odd an hour and he’s probably on 7 times that and he’s just dreadfully woeful at his job.

He just needs pulling out of the limelight, protecting and start his career elsewhere because things will just get worse for him. 
As it is, fans, and I’m one of them, will just continue to scrutinize him and what a dreadful footballer he is.

To be fair mate Popey was an intelligent striker. He would have made himself two yards on Tuesday by cutting across the defender.Not sure how it’s come to a point where certain fans are comparing the two.

Who’s comparing??? I basically agreed with another poster that Pope couldn’t run for jack. One thing he couldn’t do was run as you say he didn’t need to he got in the right areas & stuck nut on it 😆 Sir Tom is a legend, Loft well he’s just at bum

Yeah He was unplayable that day but anyone saying Tom pope could run is chatting crap. The bloke hobbled about with his bent legs hahahaha the only thing he couldn’t do Mind. Great in the air, good at holding the ball up, great finisher & always put a shift in for vale. Great player, vale legend but he couldn’t run lol
