Aston Villa fans

On the train on my way to Accrington yesterday, i got talking to some Villa fans on their way to Blackburn.

When they asked who i supported, and where i was headed to, i told them i was a Vale fan on my way to Accrington. Their reaction when i said was a Vale fan was "oof, whats happening there then?"

I explained everything to them, about how the fans had been conned, how we'd been run bu crooks, about how admin was actually our best hope, and they seemed genuinely interested in our plight, which surprised me. I'd always assumed that Premiership fans weren't really interested in football outside of their little bubble, and they wouldn't give a monkeys about us. I'm pleased to say i was wrong about this.

We got off the train at Blackburn, and parted ways with a handshake, with them wishing us all the best for the future, and me saying i hope the manage to **** McLeish off soon, which they chuckled at.

It was a genuinely heart warming moment to know that our plight was known about by a wider audience, and that maybe football, and its fans aren't as intensely rotten as i'd began to believe in the last few months.

I belive all genuine football fans are for us.

I had a similar experience with a Bolton Wanderers fan the other week, we got talking football and he assumed I followed that lot down the road, when I explained it was Vale he waxed lyrical about playing us and the good times he and his mates had in Burslem before and after the game, wished us well and he said something I had never considered before....he said what a shame for a real proper traditional football club........ never looked at this way before :)

It is well known what is happening to vale. I have friends who live in places like Blackpool and Bolton and have spread the message far and wide. People are concerned and so they should be. I believe only darlington were a worse run club than vale are now. How can there be nothing left at all.
