Robert Lee is not short of a few bob. If he'd been a bit more savvy and not wrecked his reputation amongst Vale fans maybe he could have been courted to take a look at us.

 

He's a very astute business man with an ever expanding empire that oozes professionalism that Vale could only ever dream of. And he's stupidly wealthy.

I don't understand how he wrecked his reputation when all he did was sell to the highest bidder. Mo promised to buy all shares at purchase price and then offered 20% less at the first call. Mo seems to have got away with that broken promise scot free whilst Rob Lee is the personification of the devil. Confusing.

 

So basically Rob Lee has proven to look after his own best interests rather than the club......yes, a real shame he damaged his reputation - not! He'd do well with the current lot of vultures.

 

Still agree Chaudry was an idiot to allow this to happen though.

I was raging with Robert on the day of the EGM but having later met and spoken with him about the whole episode I fully understand his point of view. It was naive, which he admitted with hindsight, but he is a very rich casual fan. He doesn't live and breathe the club like we do and most people don't really understand him. Vale is a passing interest. He was unhappy with the running of the club and angry with many things and just wanted to pull his investment out.

 

Following our meeting where we fully informed him of the true picture of the goings on, of which he had little idea, he withdrew all sponsorship with the club the very next morning.

I think the point that Newchapel makes is the fact that we have millionaire fans who really should be helping us out.

Most clubs have millionaire fans and all steer well clear and rightly so, it's a bottomless pit and once you start there's no going back.

 

I remember in the 90s the gallaghers stating they would never invest in man city for those reasons.
