On paper we are stronger with Brown, Smith, Joyce and Pope as the spine. Throw in Gibbo, Monty, Woz, Hannant and hopefully Rawlinson or Legge and Dodds/Miller to improve on last season. As ever, though, it's played on grass, not paper. It's 2018-19 eve. I'm off to get drunk. I'm not there tomorrow as I'm still in Cornwall but I'll get a full and detailed match report from my mates. I'll be travelling back on the 14th to arrive (hopefully) in time for the Lincoln cup game. I'll be there on the 18th and then I'm away on holiday again, returning late Friday 31st, just in time for the home game on the 1st September. Some of us plan our lives around Vale fixtures. Come on Popey, get them playing with pride for the shirt and the club. VTID UTV
