So basically a group of opposing fans walk into a pub and 6 people run on the pitch to celebrate a late winner?? Not quite the World War 3 scenario that some would have us believe is it?...

Basically your a liar and a coward and are trying to hijack a thread about a subject you know nothing about

Trouble kicked off in the pub 15 minutes before kick off when a group of Oxford fans came in looking for trouble. I was in there until half 2 and there was no trouble before then.

It also kicked off after the game between two sets of fans. I was walking back to my car on the car park it occured on and saw it kick off.

The pitch inspection was half a dozen or so spilling onto the pitch after Owen's injury time equaliser.

So camden_vale can now be ignored again.

Pitch inspection? :D

I was in the Priory before kickoff with my mate and his daughter, we stood chatting to a couple of Oxford fans and had a good conversation and wished each other luck before we went into the ground. 5 minutes later we watched the trouble unfurl from inside the ground and it spoiled what had been a good atmosphere up until that point.

I’m just confused that a ground that is reviewed on a respected website (with input from all clubs supporters as a “friendly place to watch football” and a “nice day out”) is suddenly portrayed as Beirut by certain people on here. I really cannot believe that the police would let a “mob” of Oxford fans into a pub in close proximity to the ground and stand by whilst woman and children where attacked.

It also begs the question, what were people doing in a pub 15 minutes into a game that they’d travelled 100+ miles to watch?? Given that the Millwall v West Game was played recently without any reported violence it beggars belief that the plod would be getting their knickers in a twist over Oxford v Port Vale.

I suspect certain people have exaggerated their account of a bit of hand bags and others were probably under the influence anyway...

The trouble was before kickoff numpty!

I am just trying to ascertain what happened Dean – On one hand we have some opposing fans walking into a pub and a couple of morons on the pitch doing a jig after a late winner, on the other we have a hardened Northern Ireland war veteran stating it was like a war zone. Someone is stretching things a little methinks...

Despite what Dean thinks and says I was present at the game that day and if you define “trouble” as around 10 grown men bouncing up and down with there arms outstretched shouting, then you too can not have a attended a match in the 70’s or 80’s. I’ve seen more trouble in my daughters school playground...
