Any old Vale pics?

Recommended Posts

I've received some really good, old Vale pictures in recent days.

So, I'd like to find out if there are any more out there that people would be happy to contribute to OVF.

If so, can I suggest that you attach a scan of them in an email and send it to [email protected] rather than post on the forum

There's a couple of reasons why this is the best way:

1. You can only attach images of a relatively small file size on the forum (this is to reduce bandwidth)

2. If I put it up in the Pictures section then it is categorised so that people can find it easily rather than wading through forum posts

So, if you do have pics (and I'd love as many as possible) and you are happy for OVF to feature them please do send them via email.

If you're not technically able to send via email I can supply a postal address via PM and I will, of course, return any photos sent that way.

Thanks!

Rob

A bit of topic Rob, but I purchased an old Vale plate to commemorate the 1953/54 season a few yrs ago. Made by Wades it is the shape of a flower it appears to have been signed by the players, I understand that the players went to the factory signed a piece of carbon paper and this was there fired through a kiln. It does have a number on the back that I think is a limited addition. Do you know anything about this?

I don't Pad but it sounds like a really nice piece of memorabilia what with the Potteries connection and it being the Vale's best team.

I am too young to recall 1953-4 (my dad can though) so the only memorabilia I have for that is the Blackpool programme, the semi-final programme, the Iron Curtain souvenir brochure and the "Story of Port Vale booklet" which have all featured on OVF at one time or another.

If you can get any pics of the plate with signatures I'd be happy to feature it and also see if we can find out how the plate came about.

Cheers,

Rob
