After most games I try to read the opposition forums to try to get a balanced view of the game. Over the last few years I have noticed a troubling thread. It would seem our fans have an extremely bad reputation for behaviour.

I saw what they were on about one year when I sat in with oldhams home fans who were very welcoming. I can honestly say I was ashamed to see our so called fans kicking off, a smoke bomb was also thrown at one point. I was also told by one of the stewards they hoped we went down so we wouldn't be playing them again.

I find it hard to understand the idiots motivation.

Yep would fully support the ID card idea for buying tickets given we are electronic now so have a database to store such data.

Before I say anything, I'll state that I completely abhor all forms of violence, football related or otherwise. But......me smells a rat here. An incident that (apparently) went on over 12 months ago suddenly being raised, at a time we're having difficulty with the fuzz. As many will know after the Wolves game and Bradford and Chesterfield and others I have been the first to condem the actions of the idiots concerned and even reported them in some cases but I can't help agreeing with you fully on this point.

I find that offensive. I am not old bill or a rat.

As this an open forum and I have been a member for a long time maybe I just want to make a point.

Before you start throwing vitriol maybe you should have a trawl through a few of our opponents message boards and learn a thing or two. It opens your eyes in the worst way.

I love my club and the majority are fantastic fans, however this issue we have needs to be addressed.

I don't particularly like our local police or their leaders, I think they cause more issues than they solve.

Think they've made some good points there without having a dig at us which is fair enough. Just wondering if any other incidents before or after were seen or reported seeing as this threads been raised. I was near to the fracas on the stairs during the match which wasn't much really and if everyone was in their seats wouldn't of even happened. Im by no means agreeing with our fans behaviour as I know we have our fair share of idiots just interested if any other trouble was reported?

 

All that aside what a following last night one of the best atmospheres i can remember, a pleasure to be part of. Fingers crossed their's more to come this season!

Because I felt right or wrongly it needed to be raised. I would love for our fans to be welcomed instead of tolerated. Maybe and I'm only saying maybe the police get their so called intelligence from these sources. I have no faith in our police but you never know things could actually get better and cheaper.

Are you serious??? So a few Vale fans were giving some jip to someone who has very publicly - not once but twice - made a very hostile gesture against the country that has been helping him survive of x many ten of thousands of pounds per week for the last God knows how many years?? Are you actually naive enough you suggest no other fans have even given him some stick??? Even WBA fans want him out! If that's persecution, put me down for a double helping please, it's not exactly Syria is it???! Aside from anything, are you seriously expecting me to believe that whatever we dished out was any worse that Chelsea a couple of days earlier?? A club with a recognised far right group who were known to be involved in the 1995 riot at the Ire vs Eng game that was abandoned?????? This thread MUST be a wind up.

I didn't say anything about other clubs fans because I believe we should sort ourselves out before looking at others, don't you? If we don't sort ourselves out how do you expect our club to grow.

And by the way, I' should just qualify that by saying I wasn't at the game and am a completely anti-racist, bigotry and violence. I go to a football match to way football, and I get irrated when politics get dragged into it. I respect James Mccleans right o hold a completely opposite view but I think it's unbelievably hypocritical of him.
