No problem marketing the product as you say, what has proven not to work which I am eluding to is cheap offers on particular games.

 

That devalues the product in the long run. We have already had a game at 10 pounds this season as it is.

On the pitch yes .. The fact only 4500 ( not many more than crewe !) vale fans on sat suggests not all quite right

 

People are on holiday, (as mentioned above) there's been lots games more attractive than Doncaster and what is for me the salient point, people are expecting it to be crap because Page's appointment and the retained list did not sit well with many, myself included. I'm not a jibber though so I turned up anyway and I'm not ashamed to say when I saw Duffy and Dodds selected at Crewe I thought "here we go again"; I take huge pleasure in saying I was wrong.

 

Luckily I was at Crewe so the hoodoo was broken with me very quickly and I accept that it will take time for others to come around. For their sakes I hope they do quickly because we are looking very good indeed

There have been a lot of games crammed close together (including the Crewe, Burnley and WBA matches), plus the normal home league fixtures against poorly supported away teams.

 

It's been a lot to splash out in a short space of time. I think that partly explains Saturday's poor gate but they missed a treat!

 

They certainly did miss a treat. That was one of the most dominant performances that I have witnessed in 50 years supporting the Vale (home and away) and was entertaining as well. Perhaps no so if you were a Donny fan though.
