Preston NE 3 Port Vale 2, FLT, post match comments

Not seen much of the Vale this season yet but went to Preston. About Dicko - one of his strengths is his crossing from the left - why not play 5 at the back, we've got enough central defenders now, with full backs bombing forward and getting crosses in to feed the Pope, our best player by a mile on the night. Also like to see Byron Moore given a go playing off Popey, when he was a pain in our butt playing for Crewe he didn't stay on the wing all the time. My first comments but more to come about midfield maybe after the Yeovil game!

If Birchall gets a start following last night, then there's hope for us all and I'll go find some old boots out of the shed! Overweight/unfit, unable to beat a man, guilty of giving away possession countless times and that's being polite.

 

both sproey and blakeman gave birchall the thumbs down for two goals , not very complimentary about him at all . couple that with a very poor miss at fleetwood in the dying moments , birchall has been very disappointing (out on loan for me).

I can't see him lasting past the end of the season at Vale. An Adam's favourite and probably won't have the same standing with any future manager.

 

He's done some great things for the Vale, some on the pitch but surely the best ever was his transfer to Coventry. Shame V2001 blew the money on nothing.
