  1. Paddy Madden leaving Stockport. Getting on a bit but still scored lots of goals this season.
  2. Certainly is incredible at any level. From seeing this game you can definitely pick out parts of his game that are of a higher level than he’s playing at namely his movement and first touch.
  3. Just got the NLS playoff final on and Ollie Pearce has just scored a lovely goal for Worthing. Him being 28 now probably prevents a move higher up but he controlled a ball over the top brilliantly and slotted it home into the bottom corner really well. After a year of watching Uche and Loft with their trampoline feet that was quite an eye opener.
  4. Inoue survives a knockdown in the first round and from then on was pretty spectacular up to the 6th round KO of Nery. He is something special.
  5. Garrity easily for me. If we had ten others with his commitment and drive we wouldn't have been close to going down.
  6. It is but you'd assume they'd have given assurances to the EFL about it or they'd not have been allowed to participate like Gateshead. I know Macc when they re-formed replaced the grass pitch with one and for clubs at that level as you say it's somewhat of a money-spinner year round for them in hiring it out. Guess the Sky TV funding and solidarity payments etc will probably cover the cost but it'll certainly be a big expense for them.
  7. Todays playoff game game between Crawley and MK has been postponed due to a water-logged pitch. Bit embarassing for Crawley that. The second leg is scheduled for Thursday so that would likely need to be moved back too. Little bit of an advantage in prep time for the winner of Crewe and Donny at the least.
  8. Yeah you have to have a grass pitch. When Sutton and Harrogate came up from there they had plastic pitches which they needed to replace. In the case of Harrogate they had to play at Donny for a short while to get that pitch ready at their stadium. I'm not a fan of them and they would always give a huge advantage to the home side who played on them regularly. That said last time I remember Vale playing on one we did over Preston 5-2 at Deepdale.
  9. If we sold Chislett I’d say we should at least ask the question on Sbarra at Solihull who scored the first equaliser. He’s had injury issues the last year or so but looked over them in the playoff final and lasted the full 120 minutes easily. Watched the NLN playoff game and nobody really stood out to me. Boston had Zak Mills playing for them but not sure we want to go there on that one… There is the South equivalent on today so maybe someone there?
  10. Sad for anyone losing their job but think DM would be spot on in feeling that way. The boasts last pre-season of being fitter, faster and stronger ended up proving very much the opposite so pleased to see DM address it.
  11. A match that might attract Stoke fans and wouldn’t need police. It’s a bold strategy let’s see how it works out…
  12. They’re going to have a job be ready for the new season as they currently have a plastic pitch so will have to rip that up. They just scream out beating us in some humiliating fashion at VP next season.
  13. I think Solihull look physically spent. The structure of the conference playoffs you wonder if the extra game is taking its toll now.
  14. It would be great for Solihull Moors to get promoted. It's an amalgamation of Solihull and Moor Green, where we signed Ian Taylor from. Yep and Stewart Talbot too. Not a bad return in signings that.
  15. Solihull would be good just for the location. Seems they’ve very much been on the back foot so far in this game though. Bromley look a very direct and physical outfit. If Solihull did lose and we ended up selling Chislett wouldn’t mind us testing the water with a bid for Joe Sbarra for them.
  16. The one at their place was a really disciplined effort given that was coming just off DC being sacked. What I would give for that a few times this season. Notable also for James Plant playing as a centre-mid in that game and did well up against Morsy and co.
  17. It was Adams who did it. Was a rash tackle which he was prone to but Adams was wrong to do it so publicly at the time and Morsy barely played for weeks after. Ipswich now promoted to the Premier League. Congrats to Sam especially. Hard to think we were actually making them work really hard to beat us just over a year ago and now look at where both of us are.
  18. Really hope he goes on to complete the job today and would expect they will. Always a huge fan of Sam and as you say I think if Micky Adams had his second spell all over again this is one I think he’d want back.
  19. Regards Grant I put him in the same bracket with Sang. I only want them as centre mid options and they’d both be worthwhile I think then. They cannot and must not be wingbacks for us next season, seen enough of that experiment to last a lifetime.
  20. Micky Adams calling him a coward in an interview after he got sent off and then not playing him for a while after probably contributed to that. He was definitely one who got away from us.
  21. Correct, just imagine if that actually was a live game and we needed to win to stay up and he did that miss. It still baffles me how he got the ball to end up where it did His fitness is also something that personally I find infuriating that a professional footballer can barely last 60 minutes.
  22. I think you’re right on that for any like say Shorrock or Walters. Baylee is different though as we signed him to pro terms during the season.
  23. Picked up an injury during training otherwise would have played from what Moore told Baggers in The Valiant at the weekend. Ticks all our boxes then.
  24. That header he missed on Saturday and whatever the hell that shot was meant to be from him should be instantly disqualifying. He would only be an asset to us if he was playing for the opposition.
  25. If there is something to cling to on Uche last years retained list we announced Benning was in conversation with the club but then transpired he had a clause which activated another year but ended up moving on to Shrewsbury. Maybe it’s similar here with Uche?? That is just pure guesswork though. The under contract ones I’m not bothered about right now as that will change as the summer progresses. Hopefully sooner than later.
