He certainly looked a little shell shocked at the intensity of the Exeter game. There was a big step up to what he experienced in that match. He might get a little more time playing deeper in Ojo's position,  then again a mistake could be more costly.  Sang also has an error in him but I think I would go for him and Devine, with one of the forwards allowing Garrity to play deeper. It's a big game for us as all season we've only played well when Ojo and Arblaster played well. It's a test for the manager to pick the best 2 from Lowe, Sang, Conlon, Devine, Garrity and Walters.

JRC we’re always going to have a mistake in us as long as we involve Ripley so much in our play. You should only use the GK to pass to when it’s safe and the only as a last resort to conceding a throw in a dangerous area or a corner. I don’t like Ripley having so much possession and don’t think his distribution is that good. The ball to Balmer the other night was terrible and difficult to control at chest height, with the Boro player being on Balmer straight away. When you look at GK’s in the EPL who play this style some have scary moments and in the Palace game the other night, they get caught out and it then invariably it leads to a goal. No one can afford to make mistakes in that area of the pitch. I’m not a fan of this model of football, that’s currently being played all over the country and wish someone would change. It’s robotic and boring to see all teams trying to play this way.

  2. CK would be an excellent signing, but it would need to be under new management with a new system. I think if he came to us we’d be expecting him to win games single handedly, with the current regime. I’d fully understand him not wanting to come to us after I witnessed the level of toxic abuse aimed at him by a minority of PVFC followers. Stockport, Wrexham and Crewe are probably a more attractive option at the moment than ourselves.

With the way in which he transformed Birmingham from previous season relegation candidates into 6th position in The Championship this season, before being unceremoniously dumped in favour of Wayne Rooney, makes him a potentially good appointment in my eyes.  For this reason, I hope they don't take him, he might just do a 'Birmingham' on Stoke!

Bill, they thought they got a maestro from Birmingham when they appointed Rowett. He was in the same position as Useless, getting turfed out to make room for Zola. Look what happened then, perhaps history will repeat itself. A club in turmoil

I think, considering both the cost of forwards and the recruitment team's record on signing them, there's a solid argument to focus on Garrity as our forward this year and put some proper money into an athletic, durable LWB. Taking a risk on overpaying for another Loft is one I'm not comfortable with.

We're stuck with Loft for another season (unless anyone is daft enough to take on his wages), but otherwise it's a clean sweep of forwards in the summer.

Spend the next 6 months hammering the non-league, Irish, and U23 leagues to find Dion Charles/ Colby Bishop/Clarke-Harris before the big clubs. Don't spend the next year whining about how we can't compete with teams with 3x the fanbase, and wonder why they beat us to striker targets. Get ahead of the game instead of signing journeymen lower league strikers with questionable scoring and fitness records.

Joe, I understand what you’re saying regarding finding an unknown but I don’t think we have the resources to do this and each day makes me wonder if the owners have come to the end financially or the novelty has worn off. With everything in life, you have to be careful what you wish for. If it wasn’t for all the hard work done by Rob F and I’m sure others are involved, we’d have nothing to debate . You cannot expect your fans to have to pay foras there’s no dialogue coming from the club. It’s almost as though they’re ignoring the fans that’s why there’s become an opening in the market for Baggers. I have subscribed but can see from ppl on here that it’s informative. Football is an expensive hobby for fans to follow, so I feel let down by the club. It’s almost as though they’re divorcing us.

‘Christmas Cracker’ offer for three remaining league home games of 2023 | News | Port Vale

    a brilliant offer prices terrific

18/21 45 quid for 3 games if not a 1876 member if member a lot less.

    13 to 17 year old member 18 pounds so 6 pounds a game .

    Come on

    Pack the park

DI, it smacks of desperation but I can see it’s some good will for Christmas. IMO it’s just typical of PVFC who seem to have no strategy, another knee jerk reaction. What happens after this offer.?

What is actually happening at our football club.?

Been told on good authority that the work flickers authorised on the training pitchs has left the training pitch unusable and that the players aren't training atm as they have nowhere to train. Also been told that when flickers denied his construction company has done any work thats been carried out that was a lie and it has. Been also told that carol is running out of cash and its hardly at the club anymore. I know ill get <ovf censored> for this post but just what ive been told .

Interesting, but it’ll be detrimental to her investment.

  7. There’s no questioning his success as a manager but that comes at a cost. From the signings we’ve made, you’d say that we either do things on the cheap or there is no money in the coffers. Carol controls the spending so we won’t be having him. 🙏🏽

I thought it had been reported a number of times that Carol's & Steve Evans have got a great relationship. Not sure how or why that's come about but they get on really well

Brian, I didn’t know that. If so then I question her judge of character and why has it been made public. I consider it both unnecessary and unhelpful and the timing is shocking.

She's barking mad having a brew with that pervert.

Ffs. If that’s true and he becomes our next manager, I’ll have some sympathy for AC. If he did come and he refused to work with a DoF, every cloud. That doesn’t mean I’d want him.

We can all see what is going to happen.  Carol and Co will keep quiet and not come out with - the club is supporting AC and Co.

If they finally loose this support and the axe falls, it will be way past the transfer window, we will be bottom 4 of the league and will not have enough games to save the team from the drop.  You can see it, but they seem blind to it.

764, I don’t think it will. As Darren1810 and a couple of others alluded to last night. The low attendances will seal AC’s fate. If he isn’t gone by tomorrow morning, he’ll be in charge Saturday. If we lose he won’t be in charge for the Boro game. No matter how nice he is as a person it hasn’t worked and finances dictate.

    FLITCROFT OUT.

The model isn’t working, Carol was right to experiment as she had no footballing knowledge. That experiment has now finished and he needs to go.

What's going on lately is a criminal offence in my eyes

I’ve telephoned W&P solicitors and spoke to a polite young female who when I enquired about AC and Carol she said, ‘No comment’. On pushing her further she said, ‘I cannot confirm or deny, if they’ve been in here’.

She stated that the company are not experts in sports legislation, however if they were seeking advice, then they’d advise AC to just admit to any allegation regarding his management, angled at him. Stating that an early admission would amount to less trauma for all concerned, including fans. She stated that they certainly would not under any circumstances suggest he takes the stand to argue his point. She based this on the fact that he seems to have no acumen on how to perform in the box and also no knowledge of defence.

i thought that I couldn’t argue with her observations, thanked her for her time and terminated the call.
