These American owners buy these lower league clubs wanting to get them to the premier league but then sack good managers and bring in 'Big Names' they then proceed to not make it to the premier league and then complain about it

They did it with Rowett and Zola. BCFC were in the play offs when this happened and just avoided relegation. Even more ridiculous is the report that be paying Rooney treble what they were paying the successful Eustace. I hope they get relegated and we play them next season. Rowett then rocked up at the Lardies, it could be a case of history repeating itself. Eustace to Stoke.?

  2. Birmingham have sacked Eustace, they’re sixth in the league. Not known if it’s because he was linked with the Glasgow Rangers vacancy or new American owners want to bring in their own manager. Rooney has left DC United.

I used to get my club news by random chats to people in the Railway Paddock toilets and the queue if I mistimed my visit at half time.
Also like the rumours on here and Facebook.
I'll not be subscribing to anything that is connected to the Sentinel though. That is no disrespect to the journalist.

Perhaps that’s the real reason the RP toilets are closed.

  4. I might be misunderstanding this article but PVFC own everything Port Vale, so is this what the club are doing and Baggers is fronting it. I’m sorry but as stakeholders by financially supporting the club, why do we now have an additional payment for information about the club. Some fans may not be able to afford it and it then becomes exclusionary.
Peterborough stated they weren’t going to let BBC broadcast their games and it coverage would be through subscription and I’m not sure anyone on OVF was in favour of this move.

Well, as I spend more than 6 months each year in France, my permanent and only home, I am classed as Resident in France, and therefore declare and pay tax on my income in France. I imagine the same rule applies to Stevie G and the likes.  So if they are still domicile in the UK, and spend a majority of their time in the UK, that's where they'll pay their tax.

TY, I’m not sure you have to pay tax in SA.

Sounds plausible. On top of the £21.5m they paid in compensation for him what a disaster.

Just a very bizarre few months. They spent money like a drunken sailor all through the transfer window but not sure they’ve spent it on strengthening weaker areas of the squad or to any particular plan and then expected Potter to get a tune out of that.

They’ve exploited a loophole in FFP where they buy a player put them on long term contracts so they initial fee is divided by the length of the contract. It’s in the process of being closed and it’s just the money spent and not affected by the length of the contract, quite rightly. Either the fourth or fifth highest paid manager in the world, Simeone is top

Potter gone from Chelsea. Felt like he was swimming against the tide from the moment he took over. I always thought he was better off staying at Brighton and build up the CV more but at least he’ll get a nice payout.

Rumoured to be on £300k a week and was on a long term contract. Complete buffoon in charge at Chels. Too many players and apparently he hasn’t wanted all of them. Tough times ahead at the Bridge. I can remember when they used to be carefree

Not really.  They have seemed to be safe, mid table all season,  but are on a terrible run and are now just 3 points clear of relegation,  with a lot of teams below them improving.

    Relegation costs, what, 120 million?

You just cannot leave things and hope for the best. Might work, might not,  but you have to ( be seen to) try to do something.

I agree with the point that you’ve illustrated, however he sacked someone at the club this week who is a friend of the owner. The owner then sacks PV and reinstated the friend.

    Neil Warnock to take over.

FUA, you were right. Personally I can’t stand him. I can recall when he was the manager at Notts County and they came to VP. It was possibly the worst game of football I’d seen at the time due to his tactics. I’ve seen lots of games since but this one still haunts me.

Bizarre appointment. He was 3rd favourite for the Everton job yesterday behind Dyche and Bielsa.

I don't see it ending well.

I think he’d have been the cheaper option, Bielsa is demanding a ridiculous amount of money and is not happy with the playing staff, quite rightly so. As Sandyford Valiant quoted about their recent signings perhaps DF chose them. There’s one thing for sure he’ll get them fired up. Be an interesting touchline when they play the Gas, JB will be hiding in the dugout or he’ll try and get a touchline ban for the game. I’d have thought DF was a carnivore and had a penchant for steak tartare on a daily basis non of this vegan nose bag.
