Kept a clean sheet at their place after being whacked for 7. I think we’ll get a result because surely Crosby will start with something akin to what finished yesterdays game.

No he won’t he’ll do something akin to how we started the game. Nice guy but intellectually bankrupt when it comes to footballing ideology. I’ve just watched the goals from yesterday the third goal that lump Lift gets brushed off the ball, which I’d have thought would take some doing looking at his upper physique, obviously not. Then a good strike from their player, which it didn’t seem as though Ripley vision was obscured yet it beat him with ease. The only excuse I can think of in Ripley defence is that he’s not used to playing so deep.

  2. I can’t help but to think that AC is confused about a couple of things and perhaps we’re all being a tad harsh on the fella.

    1. We play with a cavalier attitude, so if the opponents score 3, we’ll score 2.

2.Tis the season of good will, I think he’s actually interpreted this as the football season.

I agree, but why did Crosby wait till we were 0-3 down before changing it, if he had changed it sooner, before it was too late, we’d have got a point today.Lomax did more than Massey has in the last 3 games, also beginning to think Ripley isn’t as good as he thinks he is, he never moved for the first goal.

Ripley does think he’s better than what he actually is.

Keep him without a doubt - is anyone seriously thinking we will be purchasing a proven goal-scorer in January.

15 minutes yesterday - two shots, one goal - bring him on every game as a modern day David Fairclough  - NICE 😍😍😍😍

Hops, is it confirmed that James scored yesterday as bbc saying Garrity.?

Hop, only keep him if we can get rid of Loft/Uche or both which I know is very unlikely. We’d still need to bring in another striker possibly a loan, which is always a gamble. Loft/Uche were things done on the cheap which with our budget will be very expensive, for a club of our stature and finances.

Merry Christmas to all. Thank you for your comments which doesn’t matter if I agree with them, it gives me a view of others thoughts. All the best for 2024.

Loft has turned a corner for me - is really putting himself about - looks a lot fitter/slimmer as well👍

I wouldn’t even trust him to take a corner. If he’s got gloves on swap him for Ripley. It may sound absurd and a stupid Crosby started it with his team selection.

I bet if you asked  of AC about tactics, he reply.  I like them because they make my mouth fresh and minty.

You can say about the whole squad. Full of cheapo crock gambles and league 2 refugees. The best players we have are our loans, which are largely free or subsidized from clubs with money.

We won’t have any of our current loans in January, so will have to start again. Two are injured,Balmer has no confidence and Devine is a good player with poor players around him.

    Academy

A number of our Port Vale FC Academy Scholars are to continue their development and set to find their feet in the world of football with work experience loans over the festive period.

If you read the article it then let’s you read about Michael Mills and the fact that his transfer to NUFC has been complete. I see it says he was identified by Kevin Scott IMO (PVFC loan legend). What a mentor Michael has got. I don’t know him and have never seen him play, but good luck to the lad, learn as much as you can from Kevin and hopefully you’ll be a class act like Kevin himself.

It’s good that top clubs are looking at our academy players, but I don’t know if it’s a good thing letting them go. I know it could be a gamble as they may not develop or are we selling off our Crown Jewels. I don’t know if we need the money to survive or we just sell anyone that a club makes a bid for including first team players.?

They've commented on both in press conferences.  Jones picked up a second injury in training but is now fit, Wilson has been training on the grass for a couple of weeks. Jones was fit enough to have been able to play on 15 December, I suspect Wilson may be on the bench today.

Training on the grass. It reminds me of Inly Fools where Del is telling two women in a bar that Rodney is an up and coming tennis star of the future and when asked if he prefers Astro turf or grass replied, I’ve never smoked Astro turf
