  1. The players that have been recruited are not good enough for League One. I'm not sure why anyone would have expected a meeting between the owners and the fans would change that fact.
  2. His best achievements have been selling on players we don't want... or with Connor Hall players we do want... so he can make himself useful in the summer by moving on several of the current squad. If he let's Darren Moore and his men handle the incoming recruitment side of things then we might end up looking stronger next season.
  3. It did make me chuckle (then cry a bit) in Flitcroft's podcast when he was on about PL2 strikers and he stated something like we identified 6 strikers at that level that would score goals at league 1 level and the rest wouldn't. I did wonder when scoring goals at league one became an objective for him when signing strikers. He kind of implied the seventh best striker in PL2 was available but Flitcroft thought he'd be a waste of a signing
  4. We've been dropping through the trap door without a whimper since the start do the year. Even if we can't stop relegation at this point, if we show some fight and give survival a good go then that at least gives us hopes of a genuine automatic promotion challenge in League Two next season. Assuming recruitment is also vastly improved.
  5. Clearly the Supporters Club, the Black and Gold Group, the North London Valiants, and the club itself each selected their own participants. Rob was responding to a poster who claimed the meeting was "Carol grabbing a select group of fans".
  6. Weirdly negative way to dismiss designing a kit that broke club sales records and then to also criticise him for celebrating a promotion. Wish I could fail to keep up with the competition if it meant me getting £180 million my way.
  7. It all sounds a bit Soviet but that is the Carol way. Politics in smoke filled meeting rooms. Vague corporate speak that needs an interpreter to translate into something that makes sense. However, as long Flitcroft has been sent to a Serbian outpost to study stadium drainage processing whilst Moore and his merry men handle player recruitment then I think it's good news. I don't think we'll be seeing quotes from Dave saying how a player aligns with the club's values when the new signings are announced in the summer.
  8. What would you suggest? I wouldn't say I enjoyed DI's contributions but I would say forums are richer with a wider range of opinions, even if some of those opinions don't make that much sense. I hope he comes back and I for one look forward to seeing a new user with a random username posting some eccentric team lineups in the future.
  9. League One is our average. It's not a disgrace for us to be in League Two, it's just the manner in which the playing squad has been neglected that is disgraceful, and the genuine concern that we will struggle in League Two next season.
  10. I'm sure there is a very good explanation and I'm sure no-one would care about it if we were top of the table. However, the issue is that it gives the impression that regular fans don't matter.
  11. He hasn't really got a reputation either way in terms of recruitment. I can't recall fans of his previous clubs mentioning what they thought of his recruitment.
  12. Or maybe he learnt it from Roy Hodgson
  13. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Port_Vale_F.C._records_and_statistics Without a win: 17, 7 December 1991 to 21 March 1992 Six to go to equal that record.
  14. Dave has scoured the fjords of Scandinavia, looking for an iceman, a cold blooded killer to score the goals we need. But apparently he's given up as he found no-one who could contribute. Which probably means we had the next Erling Haarland in the building but he liked porn and happy slapping so Dave reckoned his values didn't align with ours. In conclusion, we're dead
  15. Fair point. I don't see him as any less intelligent than DC and he wasn't exactly a damp squid for us...
  16. Busiest man in football apparently, but if you pop into the club to question him then he'll sit down and have a cup of tea with you
  17. In League Two the theme of new signings seemed to be "the stats/numbers indicate he will perform well". In League One the theme seemed to be "the player aligns with our values". Probably just <ovf censored> and always was <ovf censored>, but perhaps something of significance in how the approach to recruitment changed.
  18. Because oftentimes when a club sacks their manager it is a knee jerk reaction to a run of bad form and the "new manager bounce" is really just the team returning to the mean. Or the sacked manager really was holding the team down and the new guy changes things for the better so there is an immediate impact. In recent times, the manager hasn't been the problem, it's been the players simply not being good enough. That problem was supposed to have been fixed post-Askey with the appointment of a director of football...
  19. Probably coming to terms with the realisation he's flushed his career down the pan to manage our inevitable relegation into League Two believing the director of football spiel about a squad full of talented players just needing a bit of a lift
  20. no matter what happens they aren't going to be liquidated within eight weeks
  21. You're a weird wum
  22. It was Mighten who Moore was being castigated for not playing last week, Lopata this week. Probably Baylee Dipepa next week.
  23. Well sacking the manager and starting again with a new one has always worked out so well for them. Jolly good luck to them with their latest venture. I'm sure we can learn a lot from their continued success.
  24. Based on what? Three games to Nathan Smith's 388?
