  1. Not true, I have it on good authority that the Icelandic Striker Gunnar Skoorsoonsson is joining on a 3 year contract.
  2. I can see you in my minds eye now, Sat, head in hands at Wembley as thousands of Vale fans celebrated Bennings goal. Thinking to yourself...."I wonder how much the Shanahans are raking in out of this". It's your opinion and you're entitled to it, thank the Lord we aren't all the same.
  3. My twopenny worth : It's hopefully great news for Carol and her family and should see them and future generations extremely 'comfortable'. I would like to think that all of the employees of Synectics will be looked after and remain employed (assuming of course that that is their wish). IF the Shanahans decide to invest further funds into Port Vale FC I hope that we all accept that there are limits, and that anything they do invest is done so with the future of Port Vale in mind, whether that be short-term investments, long-term, on the playing staff, infrastructure or whatever. If they choose NOT to invest, sell up and retire, I for one would not blame them in the least. Finally, I would like to thank Carol, Kevin and co. for what they have achieved thus far and I trust that whatever they do from now on, they are and forever will be in my debt.
  4. Apparently there are in the region of 11 or 12 "Free Agent" strikers camped outside the Vale main entrance waiting for the chance to sign on the dotted line first thing tomorrow. Can't understand it mesen.
  5. I heard a certain Mr Ainsworth has been seen lurking.
  6. See if you can't hold out until May buddy, free food, free heating, lots of lovely young nurses and NO Vale, it's win win all the way bud (Pity Vale can't win, nevermind win, win) [emoji6]
  7. I won't be attending either, I have absolutely no idea as to explain why I won't be attending - so I will just put it down to absolute apathy.
  8. You dou realise Chichensteve is actually Connor Ripley ? [emoji6]
  9. You can judge the effectiveness between 3.00pm and approx 5.00 pm on Saturday.
  10. I turned off last night after the second goal, not because I thought Vale were crap, but because I thought that the EFL have shafted us. Port Vale were and are the only losers in the abandoned game fiasco. Now I'm not saying we would have won the original game, I can't predict what may have happened, but I was fairly confident we were going to lose last night. The game should have been played to a conclusion, with those players that were there that day, either later that evening or on the Sunday both behind closed doors. As to last nights game, I'm with Hoppers and co. I thought we looked far better tactically and effort and commitment were shown in good measure. Having said that I fully understand Spunk Trumpets comments but I fully believe that we ALL KNOW full well that some of the players are not good enough, individually and collectively, we ALL KNOW recruitment has been a shambles, we ALL KNOW mistakes have been made and it's very likely we will get relegated. However, we ARE NOT down yet and although I fully agree that it's a really difficult task, it's not yet mathematically a given, the team last night for 70 odd minutes looked far better than recent and we must believe we can get the points required, keep behind the lads. It's no use keep harping on about X who's crap or Y who should never play for Vale again - for now, they are our players and we must give them all the encouragement we can, just as we are trying to do during each and every game. The players aren't going anywhere else, any time soon, neither is our DOF and it doesn't look like new blood is coming in either so we have what we have. IF we can get ourselves just one place out of the relegation zone I'm sure it will give everyone connected with the club a massive lift and who knows, maybe we can all breathe a little easier. It's not good, it's not fun, it's a downright crap state of affairs but we have to keep believing until it's mathematically impossible to stay up. What will be will be, I fully believe that Darren can turn us around, let's just hope he can do it this season, 15 games to go, 45 points on offer, let's start with 3 on Saturday.
  11. Can't believe OG isn't even on the bench, never mind starting.
  12. Correct Joe, a win tonight would be massive, a boost to everyone and with two home games to come a real chance to put some daylight between us and the bottom four. One point regarding your second bullet point - we would be 1 point behind Reading with 3 games in hand, not 2 😀.
  13. Can you watch on i-follow if there's a Premier league game on ?
  14. I wonder if Moore may recall Cass at some point ? A big 'up' to any fans travelling tonight, especially any who went the abandoned game and are already out of pocket. It's a pity the club couldn't see fit to offer free coach travel tonight, I know that would cost the club even more than they have already lost but it might have been seen as a genuine gesture to the VERY long-suffering fans My team for tonight ; 4-1-3-2 Ripley Cass Smith Lopata Jones Ojo Sang Garrity Mighten Loft Own Goal. [emoji6][emoji1787][emoji6] Heart says 1-1, head says 3-0 UTV
  15. If you watch the highlights Jones hardly gets his feet of the floor [emoji1787]
  16. To be fair though Warren, the goal we conceded was terrible defending. Loft misplaced a header back towards Grant who slipped and allowed the midfielder free rein to push onto our half. A simple pass through Smiths legs and Lowe just watched as the winger slung over a deep cross where Jones allowed the 5'4" No10 to outjump him and plant a header into the bottom corner leaving Ripley rooted to the spot. Darren wasn't happy !
  17. I'm sure a certain proportion of our fan base that post on here want relegation purely so they can come on here and pontificate just how right they were and how "nobody listened".
  18. I'm not "down on the owners" regarding the ground, I'm sure they're doing what they can, when they can.
  19. Can anyone confirm that Dave Flitcroft was actually at Vale Park on Tuesday - maybe (just maybe) he was elsewhere scouting or indeed trying to sign a free transfer striker - who knows. And whilst I'm at it, although I agree totally that the first team must come first, the infrastucture of the stadium has to meet certain standards for league one football and therefore, however much we may think otherwise, funds have to be made available to upkeep what we all know is a crumbling gigantic wreck of a stadium.
  20. What makes you think Rudgie is so out of date ? Perhaps he is right behind Flitcroft and what he is doing, who knows ? Strange also that you ask without Garlick who's counsel does she keep, surely that's Flitcroft and if she trusts his counsel then that's up to her. Perhaps a couple of statements from our two club presidents might smooth the waters, one way or another.
  21. Why does she need to highlight the negatives, they are there for all to see and are constantly mentioned on here and other social media - I'm sure that Carol, Kevin and indeed Dave Flitcroft are fully aware of the failings, just as sure as they are fully trying to address them. It seems to me from the statement that Dave is here to stay and is a vital part of her team, ergo any attacks on him are thus attacks on Carol and Kevin. As things stand we aren't relegated yet and more importantly we still have a club to support, it's not easy at the moment but this is Port Vale, when has it ever been easy.
  22. If you care to look at the "who's who" section of the official Port Vale F.C. website it clearly states that Andy Crosby is the MANAGER of said Port Vale F.C., so what you appear to know "for certain" is, in fact incorrect - I think you need to wake up and smell the coffee 😉
