League 2 Table - embarrassing

Looking at that table makes me want to kick the telly in.

Above the Vale are Accrington Stanley and Stevenage - the joint support of whom doesn't come near Vale's. Never mind "Accrington Stanley..who are they?"...more like who the fuxk are Stevenage? What on earth are we doing even playing teams like this, and Morecambe?

Such a depressing night when you see how we have fallen off the pace - although there were plenty of performances that made me feel we were lucky to be top of the league.

I was going up the Vale when Bobby Smith and John McGrath were there, and after the glory years it feels like we are another generation away from being back in the second tier.

I just hope we can win a couple, and in particular would love to beat Stevenage in a couple of weeks. They were easily the least charming

team to play at VP in decades.

 

Smithie, we have no automatic right to be playing at any level. Hisorically we are a mid to lower league 1 side, but currently we are under performing both on and off the pitch. Outside of the mega rich clubs, teams that are well run and well managed both on and off the pitch tend to climb the leagues and those that arent drop down them. We are playing Accrington, Stevenage and Morecombe because they deserved to get promoted and we deserved relegation. Its that simple, it may be hard to stomach but thats the way football works.

Accrington have scored almost the same number of goals at home (if not more - following last night) as Vale have home and away.

 

Accrington without a shadow of a doubt deserve to be above us.
