Lets face it.. he will have learned so much from the likes of Beckham Donovan and Juninho! We could have an immense midfield with the likes of Birchy, Marshall, Shuker etc... just the sort of ammunition we need for the run in. Apparently he has offers from abroad, but not until april/may time??

Not quite, the Adams quotes are more recent and it sounds like he will be coming not might be coming. Bring it on, we'll have so many midfielders we will be playing 2-7-1 (one of Gannon's preferred formations I think).

 

My favourite was the 3-6-1 that Rudgie played in our 1-0 away win at WBA in 92/93. Genius.

But he will prob be the best centre mid in the division? Much as i like young Sam, to me i would put him straight in to the engine room

 

I can't see Birchall having the range of passing that Loft possesses.

 

Our midfield performs better with Griffiths & a play - maker, be it Loft, Morsy or (when he was here) a fit/sober Roberts. I only saw Birchall play on the wing for us so I could'nt judge him in centre midfield, whereas Loft has proved he's class. 2 ball winners like Griff would leave us lacking creativity in the middle of the park.

 

We again played Loft out of position yesterday at right back, but his attacking flare, ability on the ball and fitness led to both goals.

 

Lets not get carried away with a player by bringing him into a team thats stringing a bit of a run together. I would play Loft in his best position rather than letting Birchall play centre.

 

Birchall, "prob be the best centre mid in the division"................ he's not even the best centre mid in the team.

I don't know how anyone can judge having not seen him play in so long.

 

He's been out in the MLS playing regularly with the likes of Donovan and Beckham. I'd say he must have learned a few things if he started 19 games for them last season.

 

I don't honestly understand what some of you expect we can attract?

 

We have an inept board that haven't got 2 pennies to rub together, a manager who has quality but his hands are tied, and a player who has been plying his trade WELL ABOVE this level offers his services.. for FREE to shop window himself whilst helping us in the bargain??

He hasn't signed at all yet though it's likely if he does it will be month to month.

Not sure I agree with that 100%, but I do think it would be a boost for the team.

 

I just wish I could see it happening.

 

That is why I say could be as i'm being optimistic. He woul certainly be a boost I tell you that.
