A good read I thought, as is the 200per cent article. Its only when you sit and read these things that I realised how strange the last few months have been. It is like a sitcom and other clubs must be looking at it and laughing because it is a farce. Who would of thought that back when Toshack resigned from the Wales job it could have such huge impact on Vale. That allied to the nonsense in the boardroom. God knows what will happen next.

All excellent, but you may not have watched the King.

Ken Hancock in the FA Cup at Anfield, fantastic, also Cup against Cloughs Sunderland hobbling on one leg.

 

Pretty much down to personal opinions, as Grew was here from just before the big push (just prior to late 80s Spurs game time) through to 1993 or so, and we had a fine team at that time, we also had a mark 2 version with Guppy and McCarthy added in the mid 90s.

I think Grew must be close to being our best ever keeper, along with a shout for Ken Hancock and Goodlad, Mussy for me never quite as consistent as those other 3 but still a great and loyal Vale player.

Mark Grew also made the best save I have ever seen in the 5th round home cup tie against Watford in 1988, has to be watched in slow motion - a second half piece of brilliance that earned a lucrative replay.

 

No doubt Grewy was one of best ever keepers, if not the best (although Ken Hancock was a favourite of mine, too). But as to whether he was in our finest team - no, that has to be the team of 1996 when we beat Everton in the Cup.

 

Mussy joined Vale in 1992 and played more games for Vale than any other keeper. He also caused more heart attacks amongst fans with his antics.
