Test of character

Yes FGR match is as Brown says a test of character for him and the players. More so it's a test of character for supporters too. Quite a few on here have already failed the test! I will be there and will support the team through the 90 minutes but believe me if we can't win this one I too would go ballistic. My view is that Brown will be gone even if we win. Could be we have Graham Westly?

Never thought I'd live to see the day a home game against Forest Green bloody Rovers would be described as a test of character. Oh for the good old days when we could be mildly confident of beating Workington or Barrow.

Too true I can relate to that. It's worrying that in my view we have quite good players who should be good enough to beat any team in this league. Yes it's about set up and tactics but it is about players getting out there and proving their worth to the fans!

I agree with that, I see this as more of a test of Michael Brown's sense in his tactical approach. If he plays four centre halves and one up front again he should be sacked at the point of kick off! Not only do we need to win we need to see a team formation that will deliver numerous wins in future.

Yup but he has gone with all these centre halves because it is current fashion in Premier League and Europe. Watched Arsenal v Cologne and the Germans had four centre halves. Trouble is if you do concede you need to go to 4-4-2 immediately or you will lose. At our level and at home we need wing backs.

Players have already proven they have no "character". They are either just picking up their pay cheque's or they are not playing for Brown. Either way they have no pride. I have said this forthcoming statement a 1,000 times and I am about to make it 1,001. NEVER think that players care. Support them during the games, but once that final whistle whistle has gone, let them know if they have stunk the house out. One thing that drives me bonkers is when fans applaud the team after a terrible display. It is NOT being disloyal to show your true feelings. Let's hope we're applauding at tomorrow's final whistle for the right reasons.

IMO it's a test of tactics not character, we should be good enough to beat FGR if Brown goes with the right players, formation and tactics. Will he bottle it and go with as he has so far this season or play the correct players in their correct positions. As has been mentioned earlier if he goes with the same and 1 up front he should be sacked before kick off and put Boomer in charge for the match.

I would go Hornby, Wilson, Denton, Smith, Anderson, Tongue, De Frietas, Worrall, Whitfield, Barnett and Pyke.

I'd go with that as long as Worrall is played through the middle. Maybe Pope before Barnett but for sure an option to replace one with the other sometime at about 60 mins.

We shall see tomorrow.

Bench: Pope, Gunning, Middleton, Stobbs and Boot. Agree Worrall through middle and Whitfield wide.
