It would be great if he can steer his hometown club back into the League.

I'd love to see Gateshead back in the league, for some reason I feel great empathy to teams that lost their league status in the days when it was unusual (Old pals act of re-election).

I was overjoyed when Accrington got back in the league (though strictly speaking not the same club), and Newport too, and wish older ones that I never really knew of like New Brighton, Aberdare Athletic, Darwen, Bootle, Ashington, Durham,Merthyr Tydfil, Glossop North End and a few others but wish theyd all revive to at least conference / national league standard.

I would love to see Wrexham Workington and Bradford Park Avenue back and it is sad when people just call Bradford City by the name of Bradford, the Park Avenue club used to have a superb little programme, very small with a green cover that stood out for its size and stylish design.

Id quite like Halifax to return too, but for some reason don't feel the same about the Cheltenhams and Kiddrminsters and Rushden and Diamonds, who were not league clubs when I was growing up.

At least the large number of ex-league clubs in the national league (conference) like Grimsby have a chance to get back.

Not according to Wikipedia.......

Rushden & Diamonds Football Club was an association football club based in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire, England. Formed by a merger of Rushden Town and Irthlingborough Diamonds in 1992, the club played in the Conference National following a short spell in the Football League at the start of the 2000s. Nicknamed "The Diamonds", the club played at Nene Park. The club's main rivals were county neighbours Kettering Town. The club were expelled from the Conference National on 11 June 2011; their unstable financial position meant they could not guarantee to complete all their fixtures in the 2011–12 season,[1] and resulted in their dissolution.

It also says:

Fans announced their desire to create a new fan-owned club called AFC Rushden & Diamonds that would field a senior side in 2012.[17] The club is currently in its third senior season, competing at step five of the non-league pyramid in the United Counties League Premier Division.
