Interesting that it was other fans who identified the culprits and reported them rather than saying "it's just banter".

 

Or simply just ignoring it.

 

I don't know your rugby knowledge but Nigel Owens is very highly regarded and for me is the best ref in the game. If he officiated a game you know the result will be fair, something else lacking in football.

Yes, he's a top-class referee, and controls the game well. No place for this in any sport, or everyday life.

I know a little bit of Owen's story and have huge respect for the guy. As an aside, I thought yesterday's ref at Gills was as good as we've seen for many a day.

It's not a surprise. One thing football could learn from rugby is respect for the referee and his decisions. We rarely see a bad referee and biased ones do not get very far or last long. I wish I could say the same for spectators or the "Experts" we find on radio and television.
