Billy Bratt has been on Radio Stoke this morning again saying sales are going well before having a pop at people on the Internet, moaning about the "lies" that are put put there.

 

He also said anyone can view the computers and records to see how many have been sold.

 

What he didn't say is he can't actually allow anyone to verify the counts because viewing individual sales is illegal under the data protection act.

Strange how he has a dig about lies on the internet etc.How many of these lies originate from Bilious Bratt himself though?

yes but surely if the chairman is allowing somebody to view the figures, it would be fine to do so? Isn't it just illegal to break in to the ticket office and take a look then publish it on here?

 

Why don't you go down to the club and ask to view the figures?

Why did Bilious Bratt not give out the latest total of Season tickets sold.All was said was it was over 2000.Well the last official update was 2008 and that is over 2000.

why do you need to have the exact figure? over 2000 is over 2000. we will hit easily the 3,500 mark before the season starts and then you can have the exact figure while sitting at home watching soccer saturday

because it's their job to try and ensure we sell the most as possible. To 'build a buzz' around the sales and entice other fans to follow suit. Any normal person would see it as the board doing their job, you don't though.

 

When you see advertisements that there are only 100 tickets left to a certain show / event, it very often means the complete opposite and they are struggling to shift them and need to increase the urgency.

 

Either way, he's invited you down to go and have a look at the figures so i suggest you get your lazy **** down there

Even if we have sold 2000 that is still around 40% down YOY - not really headline making news for the board

OK then we have already been told that 2008 tickets have been sold.We are later told that sales are going well even though there are a group of people(a sly dig) boycotting the season tickets.So we will guess as there is no more information available from the 'honest and open' board.Lets put that guess at 2011 shall we after all it matches the year;).So based on that and the previous announcement of 2008 that means that between the last announcement and the latest total the club have sold 3 Season ticket's.Add that to the £13k in the bank.

It's not illegal to view a number of tickets sold. However, anyone can manipulate a piece of paper or a computer screen to show a specific number. What you then need is to see how that data breaks down and see who has been sold in what area and then verify that.

 

However, you can't verify that as to view data on individuals would be breaking the data protection act 1998:

 

Data must not be disclosed to other parties without the consent of the individual whom it is about, unless there is legislation or other overriding legitimate reason to share the information (for example, the prevention or detection of crime). It is an offence for Other Parties to obtain this personal data without authorisation.

 

So you can't verify the numbers without the DPA being broken.
