The rumour that said this was happening also said the Shanahans were going all in on Vale and wanted to ‘leave a legacy’.

Even investing 20 million into Vale would leave her £150-60 million and revolutionize the club... its their money though but if she wanted to it wouldn't need it all.

Not to mention the interest they'll make.

No chance of that. It will need to be paid back, be interesting to see how the new owners of synetics feel about it

If we owe them say £10 million I imagine it will be paid out the sale? So if sold for 180 million Carol will have to pay 10 million of that to clear it or will be structured to pay X amount off a year.

  3. Have to see what it means for us... is she going full in on the Vale... if so could be a wild ride and relegation wont feel so numb knowing we can financially power back up...

questions remain... the money we owe to Synectics... where do we fit in as we are part of the group aren't we?

May explain how we got Darren Moore in? and why even though we missed out we were prepared to offer decent money (based on what DF said in the Vale Pod) for players.

Also maybe answers why Ian Donaldson was talking about wait and judge Carol in a few months on Twitter.

  4. Its not about competing with Derby or Bolton for me but we should be competitive with sides like Wycombe, Stevenage and Lincoln so no reason we shouldn't be competing. We are a bigger club than the 3 in the drop zone with us for example, should be capable of finishing with or above Burton, Shrewsbury or Exeter.

  5. I love Carol and appreciate all both Carol and Kevin have done, and to a degree Flitcroft who turned us around hiring DC and the great window we had the summer of 2021.

That doesnt mean they can't be questioned on the failings now however which are probably more likely than not going to put us back where we were in 2021 in L2 needing a summer to build a promotion side again.

IF we go down it wont be your typical lack of spending in the club, £10 million, some on the purchase granted but we probably have more spending on the club than we ever have... it wont be down to being poorly owned or a basket case either so it feels a very needless situation to be in to be honest... thats the main frustration.

I guess we have set such a low bar in recent weeks I was just glad for a slight uptick in performance.

I thought the first half was relatively equal, but we fell apart in the second half.

Reading basically had much better wingers which is where most of their threat came from.

To be fair I thought Mighten was equal to them but once he went off our threat was largely gone which meant their wingers were even more free to have a go at our full backs, DJ did alright but once it was Grant there it was messy, this is the problem with trying to change things in February, had Moore had a couple of weeks we may have been able to get a full back into the club, as it is we are waiting on Mitch Clarke really but dont have anyone whos really a full back. Cant get away with playing wingers there as easily as you can wing Back for example.

They season was so poor but I found it quite enjoyable in some respects we had Reggie scoring v Oxford in a 2 -2 draw after been 2 down ,think Eagles scored a wonder goal in a home game we won 2 -0 and we took it too last game at Fleetwood where De frietas should have scored but heard he hit post in a 0-0 draw .

We lost our way that season but remembering telling folk on wonder of Vale after a televised 1 -0 freak win v Mk Don's that the performance was so very poor and it would result in relegation if those kind of performance levels were repeated .

    And so we were

    UTV

MK battered us that game on sky, we were terrible but got a penalty which we missed but got lucky with the rebound.

Was such a frustrating one, what cost us was an injury time equaliser from Gillingham deep into injury time in the February time against us, we went down by a point on them and they'd have gone instead had we held on!

  8. It all has the Bruno Ribeiro season feel about it now.

Started really well, played some lovely football at times, home form was great, didn't concede at home the first few matches, replace the loss to Burton with the loss to Coventry at home that season which then started the wheels coming away from the axel, Loft - Martin Patterson, the loss of Arblaster and Devine to the loss of Grant and Alnwick and you could go on...

  9. I felt more positive after that performance (But I was also positive after the Stevenage one and we didn't build on that!).

We played some nice stuff and looked more comfortable, Loft should score and you can see confidence is at a low ebb throughout but something to work from with the 4 at the back.

However we need Mitch Clark back and fast, once DJ went off Grant was torn to pieces so Clark at LB, Sang at RB might be the way to go, all be it Azeez is a very good winger at this level.

Cracking Goal to break us, that said Wing scored an identical one last season against us at Wycombe! but our heads dropped after that.

Defensively we did seem to panic every ball into the box as well so need to calm down.

There is a great video behind the scenes documenting GIbbo’s loan signing at Cambridge Utd.

Sorry can’t put the link in from my phone but it’s  on YouTube and the channel is Fusion Josh.

I can’t believe we weren’t interested in him. Type of character we are missing.

Watched it, was quite good and a real insight into how much is involved in just a loan move. Harris said they'd missed a couple etc.

From the late equalisers, some one up above was looking after us last night. Long may it continue

Yeah I was pretty depressed with a couple of minutes to go at the scores, Charlton missed a 1 on 1 on the 98th minute as well which would of been a huge blow.

Shrews dropping two points is massive as their GD is terrible, Reading dropping points keeps them close ahead of a huge game.

Big weekend, Charlton go to Bolton, Reading go to Portsmouth Shrews host Wigan, Burton go to Orient who are flying at the minute so an opportunity for us if we can find a way to beat Cheltenham. If we can get out the drop zone above Charlton with 3 games in hand and stretch the lead on Cheltenham back to 5 points that would be a huge boost.

Suppose there is still a chance of further points deductions with them

Think there is another EFL hearing (dont quote me on that though) anytime soon but not sure what for and if that outcome could incur deductions.

As people have stated he worked with Dwight Gayle at WBA now i know he had a <ovf censored> time sjoke but who doesn't(they have ruined many a striker),for me he could/should score goals in League One but i dont think we could afford him(having said that i also thought that about Moore)

Chuck £100k at him until the end of the season could save us from the drop and big losses from that.

Our biggest problem is its a Tuesday! Why bother turning up! What is it with Tuesday league games ?

Coming up to 2 years (April 2022) since our last Tuesday night league win which is bonkers, considering we've had plenty of cup wins in that time it is a strange one!

We will get beat here I think and possibly heavily, they have goals throughout the team and we rarely do well against them, especially away.

I'm not saying it to console myself. Nobody wants relegation & it would be a massive hit like you say, but do I think we'd be scraping around fighting for survival in League 2 like last time... no. I think we'd rebuild & bounce back faster than we did last time we dropped.

I'm not saying relegation is okay, it's really not. But if we do drop I think we're better placed as a club to be okay in League 2. I certainly don't envisage us dropping out of the Football League like we almost did on multiple occasions last time.

I'm just trying to look at things longer term. At the moment whether we like it or not, we're a top half League 2/bottom half league 1 club. It's no massive surprise that we find ourselves in exactly that kind of position.

    Next managerial appointment is massive.

I did post something similar a few weeks back, the youth players would benefit possibly by relegation in getting game time and they have the ability at that level, plus we have many of our best players contracted so they either have to stay in L2 or we sell for decent money...

However the events of the last couple of weeks have left me very worried now as we seem to have lost all control and direction, we need to ensure the management appointment is right enough that we can see them at worst not keeping us up but having the capability to have us back up next year.
