  1. Exactly. He was a trier and he scored an important goal. Outside of those things he was pretty run of the mill.
  2. Fair point. Still don't think he really pulled up any trees though despite his Wembley goal, and he's done nothing since. He would be fine as one of four strikers at the club, but think "superb" is way over the top.
  3. Where does this notion that Harratt is superb come from for some people? He works hard, sure, but he averaged a goal every 6 games in League Two for us and has scored 1 goal for Huddersfield since in the league. "Gagging for success" is complete hyperbole. That's not even mentioning he clearly has bad habits off the pitch.
  4. I'm not over-rating anyone. But I know that most the sides in League Two won't be anywhere near the same quality as League One.
  5. Nonsense. Chislett, Garrity and Ojo are League One quality. Clark is a good League Two player when fit. Same with Smith. Dipepa will be much better from having experienced some football this season. Ripley would be one of the best goalies in League Two... I think some people are forgetting just how poor many League Two sides are. We won't be facing anything like the same quality as the top half of League One. Look how poor we made Mansfield look in the Cup last season and the only real difference in that side were the two loanees.
  6. And do you think League Two sides will have all bases covered?
  7. As of right now, without again coming or goings, this would surely be at least a play-off chasing side in League Two. Ripley Clark Debrah Smith Iacovitti Wynne Ojo Garrity Chislett Ikpeazu Dipepa It's a big if, but if we can keep Chislett, Garrity and Ojo I don't think there would be many better players in League Two. Add a goal-scorer to that side and a decent centre-back and you're laughing.
  8. If he doesn't have much interest I'm sure he would agree to a lesser wage, if not given much of a choice. I believe with better service both him and Loft would be able to score some goals in League Two. The difference in quality between the two leagues, other than a handful of poor teams in League One, is massive. Again, I'm not saying I personally want to keep either in an ideal world. But Ikpeazu is a target man and there were times last season when others around him were better because of his presence. Surely with a decent pre-season behind him and in hopefully a more creative side he would be capable of being a 10 goal a season target man.
  9. And the vast majority of them will be out of our reach for numerous reasons. I'm no fan of Uche. I wouldn't care less if both him and Loft were on the move as long as they are replaced. But out of the two, I think he has a bit more of the nuisance factor than Loft. If we were a League Two club and we signed Ikpeazu I think most would be saying what a great signing it is.
  10. Far better strikers than Ikpeazu miss chances up and down the land every week.
  11. Ikpeazu will be fine in League Two if we can get someone with pace to play alongside him that's a more natural finisher. He's toothless but he's also a handful.
  12. Wilson should never have been re-signed in the first place. It was pure desperation stuff. Also glad to see the back of Massey. He offers next to nothing and was a massive dissapointment.
  13. It's not going to happen though. It's unrealistic to think we're going to get rid of almost all of the squad even if we would like to. There's a considerable gap in quality between the two leagues. I think Iacovitti and Debrah, who is still improving, will hold their own in League Two. Not saying either would be world beaters in that league but almost every L2 team will have a lump like Iacovitti at the back.
  14. If we have a decent summer and show a bit of ambition I don't think next season has to be such a grind. Smith, Iacovitti and Debrah will be fine in the league below. If we can keep Ripley then that's a good, solid back five for a League Two side. Mitch Clark, if he can actually stay fit, is a good full-back at that level. And dare I say it, if we keep one of Loft or Ikpeazu then surely they can have a bit more success playing against lesser players every week. If we somehow manage to keep hold of Garrity and Ojo then we should have a decent League Two side with some clever additions.
  15. There's a big difference in quality between League One and League Two. A lot of our players who we almost despise for not being good enough should at least be able to hold their own in the league below. Though I still hope most of them get released or given away. There's no chance we will hold on to either Chislett or Garrity. Forget about it.
  16. Good managers make average players better. We had some very winnable games at home and pathetically lost them under Moore. He gets next season but nobody should be saying he's been anything but dreadful so far. With love, Stokiie
  17. He's been rubbish so far, with a rubbish, rubbish squad of players. Of course he deserves a window or two of his own and next season to convince everyone he's the right man for the job. He should start with a clean slate once tomorrow is out of the way, but the jury is very much out.
  18. Still a couple of days left yet and I haven't been here this week.
  19. Pleased? No. But at the end of the day, I'm quite sure she wants to make amends for a number of reasons. Any Vale fan will only be hoping she does exactly that, and so she needs to be given the chance at least. Me hoping she starts to get things right and giving her a chance to do so next season can be separated from the part she has played in this clusterfuck of a season.
  20. Actions speak much louder than words but people really do need to give her a fair chance to put things right before writing everyone and everything off.
  21. Only one I genuinely have any sort of affection for is Ben Garrity. But we should also look to keep hold of Ripley, Smith, Ojo and Chislett. Perhaps Clark if he can get himself fit as he should be a good player for League Two. Then the kids. The rest I couldn't care less about. But for the love of God, can we please stop playing midfielders as wing-backs. Grant and Sang should never be considered for that position never mind play there most weeks.
  22. That's fair enough. Life is all about how you bounce back from adversity. She can and will, and therefore so will the club. Let's go!
  23. I actually miss him a bit and I was one of his biggest critics at the back end of his tenure. Not because he was particularly good, obviously. But he just comes across so much better than Moore.
  24. The guy can barely put a decent sentence together. God knows what he's like in the dressing room, but it can't be good.
