He got done for calling an official a weasel as well pretty tame tbfSummarising what I posted before. Played 6, won 0, lost 3, drawn 3. Sacked. Banned for 4 games for conduct offences. Time in charge 29 days.
Mitigation!! Deeney says he was sacked before his ban was announced.
Deeney scored 4 goals in 16 games. That includes a hat-trick v Notts County!- 1

Anyway made up for young Bailey signing and the positive words from his family. Obviously very grounded young man with great support around him realising he has to take it slow and be settled in a positive environment to bring him on for the future

Also the stats posted between Uche and Lofty are minimal with Uche being marginally the best performer. This is with him coming into form while Ryan is obviously way off form.Get your facts right Nipster.
I never said I was his number one fan. My point is why does Uche get loads of support when he's been bloody useless apart from 1 or 2 games over Christmas & New Year. Then we have got a player who is in exactly the same boat like Uche but does not get any support or any run of games especially now that AC stumbled across a different way of playing.
Its crazy beyond belief which shows what this thread been all about since Thursday.
He needs time and confidence imo.
Booing him is appalling.- 12

If the Uche deal is off and he stays at Vale where does that leave him regarding playing and the team etc? Possibly side lined or a big boy enough to crack on with us? Never a dull moment

Carol and Kevin are stabilising the club they are also paying out of their own pocket to top up what's needed for us to be in league 1 as our finances are upper league 2 level, not league 1 level. They haven't made a penny from Vale and put their own money in to keep us going. I've heard about 12 mill so far.Barrow have better players than us.
Barrow have a better manager than us.
11 on 11 tomorrow, Barrow would beat us.
We should be in for the likes of Cole Stockton.
Our “philosophy” is well and good and will probably make money.
The academy products. Sold. And others will go. Money.
Crosby. His style of play. Never ever ever will change. Tweeked but will always stay a constant. Like it or lump it.
Flitcroft. Earns money for Carol? He stays.
All I needed in my life today to know where the club is going is that Alfie Devine interview.
Its football manipulation.
Every question is thought out.
Every question will have been fed to Alfie.
Every question is now out there in social media to say to the suits at clubs higher than us that we are a good club.
You may as well have held Alfie down and said say what we want you to say.
I absolutely loved Alfie being here but if that’s the way football is going then it’s not for me.
Its so robotic it’s untrue.
I ask the older generation in here…. Is football fun anymore? Is there real passion? I don’t see it. I honestly don’t see it. All I see is a business. I see Port Vale Football Club as a business. A business where Carol Shanahan wants to make money. Nothing wrong with that. But she doesn’t care. She doesn’t. She cares about money. And she, like any other football club owner will put on a front saying that they care, virtue signaling her silly little scarf, when in reality they don’t! They care about making money.
And don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have her in charge of the club than Smurthwaite, as one wants to make money whereas the other just wanted to steal money but wouldn’t it be lovely to take the politics out of everything.
I don’t want my club to be “robotic”. That’s what we are and that’s what fans can’t see. A robotic club making money for the owners. I want my club to sign the best players and go and challenge up the leagues.
A lot of this season has been. Let’s not dress that up. But on the field, when Stockport and Wrexham come up next season, maybe Notts County, that’s more clubs surpassing us on the pitch.
Because when Carlisle, Fleetwood, Reading go down, that’s a lot harder to get points off than the latter mentioned.
The virtue signaling in this club might be ok for a long term plan but the hardcore supporter will just leave whilst theon the pitch continues. Apart from cracks papered over this last month.
January 18th. Still no striker. Lost our two best players which weren’t ours in the first place. It’s all a bit of a philosophical mess!
Sorry if having a stable, modern, well run progressive club isn't good enough for you.

Nice one. He's been got in to cover Garrity who himself had 10 goals this season so far but is now out injured till March. After Weir's two successful seasons in League1, many of us Brighton fans were a bit disappointed that he didn't get a loan at the next level up this season. The Blackpool loan was a bit of a disaster - right from the start the manager seemed reluctant to pick him, let alone give him a run of games. Fair enough in a way - they're doing pretty well - but the feeling is that it wasn't a failing on Weir's part that lead to his recall.
Ten goals from midfield (almost a quarter of their goals tally) in a struggling side suggests that he's plenty good enough for League1, so hopefully he'll have a good half season playing for you. Quite a memorable start for him yesterday, eh?! Good luck for the rest of the season.
Weir made a couple of good passes yesterday and looked calm and capable before the dramas of yesterday unravelled.
The seagulls are a prime example of what can be achieved from being on the brink. Was it 1999 you almost went out of the leagues? What the club has achieved since then is nothing short of brilliant and good luck to you- 7

Wheres Rodney playing now?

Reading is a pivotal game for me, a must win. We win and theres a nice gap, lose and there isn't so nice of a gap. Big statement needed from the lads on Saturday

Think he's like the 8th highest scorer in the league or there abouts. Absolute classQuite the remarkable rise. To think he's only been a professional footballer for 3 years to come from non league he's been outstanding. Over 20 goals in less than 100 games for the club is a good return from a midfielder whose main asset is his work rate & tenacity, going to be some clubs sniffing around this window. Fast becoming a club legend. Boss- 3

Exactly this. I think last night this was happening to a positive extent and it was a success. Having Alfie and Ben abit deeper in Midfield protected him much more than usual as they ratted about.I want not only Crosby to manage James Wilson's time on the pitch but Willo to manage himself on the pitch as well. Don't go in for any ball there's a chance of getting an injury, leave getting the ball back to the players who are better equipped to do it.
By now Vale fans know what the deal is and why it's important to keep Willo fit and on the pitch for as many minutes as possible.
He still got clattered tho, as he always does. When he got the knock to his calf we were all like ffs not again thankfully he was OK tho.
He needs protecting on the pitch as much as possible and playing to his strengths as much as possible- 3

And Ryan, he was got in for the same role imo. Anyone who thinks he was got in to bag us 20 goals a season needs a check up from the neck up.Playing 2 up top forces us to get the ball forward quicker as there are less options in midfield for pretty triangles. With devine, and Ojo when he is back, we do have two players capable of playing very accurate passes into feet. Let's see where this leads. It does rely on Uche having a good game but the guy seems up for it.
Supporters booing him and constantly slating him is diabolical. He needs confidence and our support, now more than any other time since he's been with us.- 11

Alot was adjusted and tweaked for last night. Willo starting with Uche was the main part with the team being adjusted around them. Uche was only ever got in for the role he played last night and all we've needed was a proper striker to manipulate and utilise the chaos big Uche causes, with Alfie, Ben and Chissy knowing when to press and push up.
The fact Ben and Alfie played a bit deeper in midfield with chissy pushed up a bit just allowed Willo and Uche to do their thing effectively.
It also allowed Ben and Alfie to help out defensively and especially cover the younguns when they struggled towards the end of the game.
All in all for a manager to tweak how he did last night and introduce young guns under the pressure he's been under shows he has big kahunas and an understanding that alot have taken for granted.
We only ever needed a Willo for us to get a proper idea of how we are ment to be set up. Long may it continue.
Roll on Monday. UTV- 12

I'm really not interested in anything you say anymore. Your self righteousness is beyond nauseating and antagonistic and the fact you mock a 10 year old lad, in tears, supporting his team at Christmas just sums you up. To think your a grown man is just embarrassing for you .And the completely missed the point post of the year is this. Well done!
Where have been people being saying is the worst that we have played for years?
For the record someone furthur up said it was the worst for decades.
Keep up Brian, that's if you can, which you obviously can't .- 3

So our two best and most influential midfielders are out injured. What do people expect?Who can we bring in of equal quality and influence?I think it was a game of two halves for Alfie. The first 45, yes, he was terrible and the game completely bypassed him. However, in the second half he really started to dictate the play and show flashes of excellence.
With Ojo and the Blaster out for a number of weeks, it’s now time for Alfie to show his worth. I think some people forget that he is still 19-years-old, he’s going to be a little inconsistent.
On yesterday, I was there and it was a pretty dull affair. The first 70 minutes were as bad as I’ve seen for a long, long time. I thought Wilson & Walters really changed the game.
The away end was pretty toxic for 90% of the match, and rightly so- the football is f*cking.
Crosby really has uphill battle to win back the supporters, with 80% completely gone already.
We aren't allowed breathing space to try and sort an affective midfield, during a game, without people going mental. The midfield was obviously severely lacking yesterday, for all to see, resulting in 60 odd mins of being over run.
However our defence held firm and Ripley wasn't really tested, apart from making one decent save, and we grew into the game after formation changes and subs etc and came away with a point.
Just the fact that we had formation changes shows that the management were more than aware of our lack of midfield and were juggling on the hoof thru the game to come up with the best option.
Boxing day should, hopefully, be alot different.- 1

Play well and lose, play not so well and draw moan moan moan
Its about time we s*** housed a point, after all we've had it done in reverse to us plenty of times.
Just for the record this isn't the worst we have played for 'decades'
As ever an important game boxing day, if just to stop the endless negativity on here. Heaven forbid we dare to lose, which is obviously what the gaffer and lads are desperate to do as they are so awful and clueless.- 1
