Fridays a must winCan we? Really, can we? Is the miracle on? My God what a feeling I'm not so used to.Winning! Let's not dwell on Fraudcroft, just support the real Port Vale. Yes we now have a fighting chance. UTV.- 1

Should be a couple up. Generally a poor first half, mainly due to Burtons tactics. We have played some ok football here and there when we've had the chance. Haven't conceeded a goal, yet.
I want us to nick this just to give the finger to Burton. -

You’re right, the reason the recruitment was good was because we had a biggish budget for league 2. Flitcroft then signed good league 2 players and we did well.
Budget in league 1 has been nowhere near enough. That same standard has given us this woeful outcome.
The only reason academy youngsters have been anywhere near the first team is due to budget cuts, not because they are actually good enough.
Thank Auntie Carol for our dire budget and impending relegation.
Do we thank Auntie Carol for pumping 2 mill in for the last two seasons to try and keep us afloat in league 1?
It hasn't worked. We can only sign the injured, not very good(who on paper look better) and loanees.
For all his faults, the amount of players Flitcroft got in over the last few seasons to try and make it work, with, what appears to be not alot of money available, is kind of admirable. It could've worked, but it didn't. Hence why we are where we are.
I'm just personally looking forward to winning some games (hopefully ) and if that's in league 2 then so be it.
I'm sure lessons have been well and truely learnt from this saga. UTV- 1

Sad state of affairs tbh and I'm gutted it hasn't worked for him as he's a human being and he tried, but if it ain't good enough it ain't good enough.
I believe he had the best interests of the club at heart but unfortunately was way off the mark with what was needed.
I wonder how much influence the gaffer had in all of this.
Cheers for Wembley Dave, amazing day and memories and sorry it's not worked out as planned.

Be sold for 20k in the summer no doubtBaylee Dipepa U17 England call up. Maybe that’s a sign for the future. -
The apathy comes from getting promoted, being promised the world and literally nothing being delivered by said promises. Turning us into a humiliated laughing stock, where opposing supporters from far and wide, have the time of their lives at our expense over and over again.
We've tried and tried to get behind them, home and away. We have done our bit. It's an insult that others haven't.
At least we may win some games in league 2,so that's something to look forward to . But as it stands, it was completely and utterly pointless getting into league 1, an absolute waste of time. Wether that's down to niavity(sp) arrogance, innocence, ego whatever, we will never know as we flounder about for some kind of answer to as to why!
Oh well. UTV- 1

Lol the misses just showed me what she thought was a banner from a plane saying end the process, Flitcroft out. It was a sticker on a board about 6 inches long and not 30 ft from the back of an airplane flying over Vale park

More me the fool for expecting that lot to come out with some fight and passion. Playing for their lives for league 1 status. Just more abject, clueless dross. Oxford just cruised, didn't get out of first gear. Made us look like inept fools lol
Resigned myself few weeks back we were Defo down, so it makes it easier. But fk me it's awful on that pitch from Vale. Weeks and weeks of it, leading to months and months and months of it.
Crazy defies all logic and reason.
A tiny glimmer of hope and positivity after Orient, something to fight for, but then, normal service resumes. We deserve to go down horrible shambles of a season.- 3

Ffs Doha please stopYes.
After last night it's 3 wins in 6 whole months too. Saturday will be day 183.
as Pboro away isn't until April 16th, it'll be at least 743 days since the last Tuesday night league win, over 2 years, another proud record for the club. Don't win that and with the summer break we're looking at getting on for 2 and a half years since the last win.
On a serious note tho, surely the powers to be are aware of these sorts of diabolical stats? -
Not really. Just trying to claw some kind of positivity from the mess of it all. There isn't any. It's out of our hands and is what it is.3 wins in 32, not won in 2024 and Vale fans wake up this morning with a new sense of optimism.
Flitcroft Out. -
Chissys little flick towards the end was going in. Defender was very lucky tbfIt was a very well organised and disciplined performance with a lot of effort. Trouble is, I still never saw us scoring at any point aside from a Wilson miss early on.- 1

HehehYou're right there, first game of the season is about bang on time -
Cambridge got spanked tonight. Really not the right time to get a spanking like that

Having a good go now we've weathered the storm a bit

Chissy very unlucky there

We've reverted back to no possession football. Why do we always look so tired last quarter of the game?

Play like we did yesterday anything is possible. It was like Vale are back Fight, passion, playing for each other, not giving up, midfield suddenly reappeared, defence were very solid, forwards a menace, crosses being whipped in, second balls being won etc etc
Its only 1 decent performance in pretty much months but just do the same against these, and anything is possible . That's all we ask.
We can't turn in a shoddy performance after yesterday, we simply can't as it won't make any sense
Let's go Vale
