  1. Having been a Vale fan for over 55 years I have pretty much seen it all over the years. I hope that I am now a bit wiser as well as a lot older than I once was and try (not always successfully) not to get too worked up following a bad result and/or performance. I have done more than my fair share of kicking the furniture around when I got home after a bad loss (are there any good losses?). Nowadays I tend to reflect on the many similar experiences I have witnessed over the years, and it is amazing how the more things change the more they stay the same. I would love to be watching the Vale storming up the league(s) playing ticca tacca football whilst realistically accepting that this will never happen. So, I call in the pub for a few enjoyable pints before the game then go and see what sort of performance and result we get that day. The only thing that I do know for certain, is that I will be going up the Vale and supporting the lads for as long as I am physically capable. As this thread is for tomorrows match my prediction is 2 - 0 to the Vale.
    Who says I can't dream?
    Nice one mate

  2. 5 hours and 30 minutes. That's the total amount of extra time in our players legs as a squad. Time that may have been avoided by adding 15 minutes to the playing time of Arblaster and Devine. A macro approach would be a far better metric in an FA Cup replay than micro metrics. Does "The Science" take into account financial gains to swell the squad in January, increasing options on individual playing times? The science (as usual) was flawed.

This hits the nail on the head mate. End of thread
  3. Well I'll be there yet again another day, another game. And another very very important game for the lads.
If we play like we did for the first 60 mins last night, and that's a big IF, we have a good chance of a positive result. If not I'll take a point. I won't accept a loss, not under any circumstance.
Especially if it's just handed to them, as per. Seriously can't handle any more extreme tactical errors, subs etc.
I just hope they players aren't as bewildered about last night as we all are, and they come out, up for it and fighting for the club.
Come on Vale let's get it sorted out once and for all

  4. Watching for the first time from the posh seats as an 80th birthday present for my dad... Come on vale, pull a performance from somewhere, anywhere for me...
It's too much to dream of a hat-trick from our senior striker (are performing players allowed to stay on the pitch to complete hat tricks)
Hope they come good for yer old man mate

  5. Left just before the penalties as I had to be up at 4,30 this morning for work. I also couldn't bare to watch us go out on penalties as I felt that was exactly what would happen. Call me fickle, don't care atm.
As I walked onto Hamil road I could hear AC ranting and shouting from the touch line!!!
I just don't know anymore tbh. So so disappointed with so many things.
Our club is degenerating into an absolute mess, or so it seems.
All said and done, is staying up in League 1, after the year we've had, adding stability for us to push on?
Not really. This is a horror show of a season and it's so tiresome and frustrating.

  6. It's getting on my wick, now.
And ironically, some of the players who we were trying to 'manage their load' (Grant, Yak and whoever else) will now have played over an hour instead 30 or so minutes.
2/0 coasting why for the love of God sit back!? Delusions of granduer. Gaffers got it very wrong tonight.
Very short Recovery time before Wigan, they arent going to be push overs.

  7. AC seems to be allow himself to be 100% dictated to by sports science and not common sense. I'm only listening on radio but from what I heard, Devine and Massey were playing well and we seemed to be the better side. Inviting pressure for 36 mintues was ridiculous!
Yep I'm flabbergasted tbh. You could see it coming and just knew what was going to happen.
