Have you seen him play m8

At this point I'd like Reggie back in fact alongside Wilson think he be a revelation .

We need someone wonder who it will be .

I'm sure there working hard get some players IN

    Patienceeeeeeee

To be fair mate I’ve not watched him play since his Solihull days. His record on loan at Wimbledon is not good reading and that’s is the only EFL experience he has. Not a profile of player we require for me.

Nope i'm 100% sure i saw him chase the referee across the pitch. If he only wanted to remonstrate with him he could have done that from the stand. I have every sympathy with him. The ref was totally clueless and i was incensed as everyone else. You can't do what that supporter did though and not get punished no matter how much we all disagree with the refs decisions that day.

100% needs punishment no place for that at a football match but he was not violent. Angry yes but no violence.Look at the way he was restrained with one hand by Crosby……unless Crosby is next level ninja doing Steven Segal skills which look sedate but are really very violent.

No, I think what some of us are saying is the level of punishment depends on what you do when you enter the pitch.

Reading fans enter the pitch to protest. No violence ensues but game is disrupted - club is given a warning of points deduction if it happens again.

Vale fans enter the pitch (in the main) to celebrate a win over Swindon. Like Reading, the club is also warned.

Some individuals that night (who were threatening violence) were identified and had individual punishments. It was people from both clubs if I remember rightly who were picked up off CCTV.

This latest incident hasn't received punishment yet. The club is suspending him until the police report. I suspect the police report will weigh up if he was threatening violence and an appropriate punishment dished out. It ISN'T a lifetime ban yet because the decision hasn't been reached yet.

100% disagree. It’s still a criminal offence regardless of motivation.

I also don’t agree he was going to be violent, whats  more concerning is the ease which he entered the pitch. Pitch invaders could be carrying anything and it’s a real safety issue.

    Anyway sorry transfer rumours…….

See Robs answer, above, which I fully agree with.  No doubt you condemn all Vale fans for invading the pitch on the evening of the play-offs, and you want them prosecuted, too...??

See above mate. It’s not right. We can’t pick and choose to apply a law because it suits us to.

I've seen people keep mentioning Reading.

    1. The FA did act on that - they've been told they'll be docked points if it happens again.

    2. If everyone is so upset with the Reading fans then what about the Vale fans coming on after we beat Swindon? Or is it one rule for fans of another club? If people want to keep saying Reading fans should be punished more harshly, should the same rules apply for the Vale fans on the pitch then?

I personally think the difference is that it's one thing to enter the field of play for a protest or a celebration. The rules say you shouldn't do that. Rightly, there is a level of punishment if you break them. In Reading's case it's very much a "don't do it again or else" (I think Vale got the same sort of message after Swindon so there's some consistency there).

However, it's another thing to enter the field of play and try and smack someone. That (to my view) is what was attempted on Saturday and was attempted by some fans (of both sides) during the Swindon game. That, I think, is a worse offence and deserves a greater, individual punishment.

Speaking personally, I think the rules have it wrong here. The FA may charge the club with failing to control its fans and give Vale a fine. I think one way of stopping it would be to drop that notion (how can a club really control thousands of people) and just fine the individual.

Point is individuals who entered the pitch committed a criminal offence. The law is either applied or not.

What we are basically saying is if you go on the pitch en mass  it’s Ok but if your an individual you will get banned.

    That’s not right.

You know what, and I shouldnt really say this, but:

If we havent got the money and we cannot compete realistically in league one, I personally would prefer for us to be on a sound financial footing and be perennial league two playoff contenders - more exciting than the constant worry of relegation hanging over us since we came up.

Not interested in AFC Hollywood type scenarios - just plain old vale playing some attractive-ish attacking football, on the cusp of league two success

I agree BUT if we can’t compete financially at this level why do the club not say it? It’s because it’s not true.

We have had a middle of the road budget for this league but there is a huge disparity between us and the top 6 in budget. I’m more than OK with that.

What we have is a wasted budget, a DOF who is full of <ovf censored>.

Leaving personalities out of this, if the powers that be truly think that adding a couple of untried starlets to the ranks will guarantee our safety then it does smack massively of arrogance.  We’ve got major injury issues, our top scorer now listed among them, loads of young players we’re trying to bed in and a strike force that doesn’t actually strike.  Bare minimum we need a forward who’s got some experience and more importantly a record of scoring in and around this level.  Beyond signings we need a huge turnaround of luck with injuries.

The club must surely move position on the signings front from last week, This squad as it stands will get relegated, relying on other teams kids to compete and our own kids to change the game from the bench with no goals in the team is a recipe for disaster.

So if Cambridge sign Bodvarsson and Gibbons it will show that teams around us are starting to strengthen with experienced players to try and get them out of a relegation battle and thats a worry

Agree. I think we are being quite arrogant with our approach. Perhaps a reflection of the DOF’s personality but either way this squad will get relegated without strengthening with a few senior players.

A Gibbo type of character is missing on the pitch and Bodvarsson would have been an ideal replacement for Uche.

So the academy sales don’t actually generate any additional income for the club…they just self fund an academy? Seems a bit pointless if that is the case.

It may have made a £1 million loss for promotion, but that was 2 seasons ago now, without also paying off Smurfwaite. Added to that being in league 1 alone adds more than £1 million in revenue.

So yeah, I would be asking where the money is, because it certainly isn’t on the squad!

The point of the academy is to develop players to fill out your squad and hopefully develop them into 2st teamers to sell them on for good money.

There is no pot of good selling youth players not on professional terms. It’s just money to make it a self alone business .

I have no idea what you’re trying to say about paying off Smurf .Do you no think that money is not been invested to get us to this point with the pitch ?

I'd be lying if i said i was pleased about Robbie Williams becoming club president. Seen Carols comments about being so grateful for everything he has done for the club 🙄 Can any one enlighten me to exactly what has he ever done for the club barring a few shares years ago? To be even mentioned in the same sentence or share a presidency alongside such a legend in John Rudge is ridiculous & an insult to such a good man. As a fan Robbie should or could possibly invest some coin into the club alongside another plastic fan named Phil Taylor but they are both so stuck up their own arses it's a disgrace. Pair of them with an ego the size of Uche Ikpeazu's ball bag. Instead he's here making it all about him well the club pay him money! All a publicity stunt to try & get Robbie fans onboard 🤦🏼‍♂️ can gaurantee myself & all you guys who love this club have put a lot more money into Port Vale than Phil Taylor!

If he can create publicity and interest in the club to increase revenues then it’s a great move which will benefit the us

Maybe we could get a Netflix documentary from it?

Anybody watch Chelsea v Middlesbrough the other night and the total fallout in the game & after the game on how Middlesbrough played?

I only watched until it went 2-0 then switched it off as the game was over at that point. Certainly up to 2-0 I thought Boro did ok apart from the stupid passing from the GK. I think it’s Morgan with the big chance at 0-0 for Boro which they didn’t take, if went in it  would have made it a very different game. Shame really from a spectacle viewpoint.

Crosby is pretty open in his interviews. I suspect it is unlikely we will be making a permanent signing for a sizeable fee this window.

My money would be Hudlin as the forward. No secret we wanted him in the summer. Huddersfield have signed a couple of forwards.  They need to make a decision about what to do with him in the summer.

LWB probably Zac Sturge as Chelsea want him to go out somewhere. Didn't do well at Peterborough.

I'd hoped we'd be in for Charlie Kirk but that seems unlikely.

I have my doubts about Hudlin. I expect us to go in a different direction with the Striker rather than a big lad to hold the ball up.

With Weir and Gore coming into the team I expect us to revert back to more build up play rather than being a little more direct to Uche. Just me reading between the lines.

Clarke Harris, 550k of guaranteed greatness who would be worth every penny.

On a lower value note, Will Goodwin who went from Cheltenham to Oxford will be an absolutely great signing as a striker. Only 21. We should have been in there👌

I really feel it would be beneficial for you to do a deep dive into club and re-evaluate your expectations.

Questioning where money has gone and your striker suggestions tells me you have missed what’s been going on for the past 3 years or your not listening.

The bloke is absolutely deluded. Scouring the Scandinavian market for the next Ryan Loft is he?

Doesn't fill me with any hope, especially his comments about the rest of this window. Bite the pillow for the second half of the season, we're in for a rough ride.

Do you not think the current squad is enough to stay up?

Did DF comment on the interest shown in our own players like Chizzy and Gazza? That is as big a concern as any loan players we might sign as they are permanently contracted core players of our squad. We just cannot afford to lose them.

    Never say never mate.

Sounds like 2 loans to come and we are done. LWB and ST.
    Cant argue with that.

Where does that leave Grant? He's been underwhelming for me, so if he's ousted by a loan this window can see him moving on in the summer (think he's under contract?)

He’s not going to be ousted. It’s going to be a young lad with his 1st loan who will be cover and provide a change of pace 2nd half if needed.
