Praying for a win today because the reaction on social media could turn quite nasty.
It’s the beginning of a season defining month, I think it will dictate which league we will be playing next season. Our loan lads have really got to hit the ground running today.
If Crosby can keep this squad in L1 he should be manager of the year. Best of luck to him.
On the assumption of injuries and fitness:
Ripley
Lowe Smudge Yak
Massey Gore Sang Grant
Weir Chizzy
Wilo

And the stated objective to sign a striker was made before Uche’s injury (I think)!
Yeah it was.

Abysmal wasn’t an option.
We only did business to replace like for like loans which look OK but the primary objective to sign a Striker and LWB, as stated by Flitcroft, failed miserably.

Quick question - are we still allowed to sign 'free agents' ?
And if so, who may be available striker wise.
Sorry to go off topic, regards topic, we really should have found another 1 or even 2 strikers.
Having said that, we must still have quite a large squad even now.You can sign free agents whenever you like Fred. Only issue is how long it takes to get them match fit.

Most players signed in the summer are free agents as they leave when their deals expire.
Exactly. After the windows have closed and the season has started nobody wanted you.

Now the dust has settled I’m even more perplexed about the lack of striker when you consider we were all set for Uche to join Charlton.
Negligence by Flitcroft. He should be sacked for incompetence.

Free agents - the last refuge of the desperate 😀
As Flitcroft said himself last January… Free agents are free for reason. Nobody wants them!

You can take mighten out of that kids category mate he's more experienced at a higher level than league 1 than anyone in the squad i think barring lowe?
He’s still a kid. It doesn’t matter he was a sub here and there in the Champ. He’s not a seasoned pro to rely on week in week out in a relegation battle.
We've got Ripley, Lowe, Smudge and Massey.
We really are <ovf censored>.

Incredible to see we’ve not signed at least 1 striker. We have so many holes in our squad and we are relying on kids who are not ready to play regular 1st team football to make a difference
I feel for Crosby,I really do.
It’s frightening in our midfield without Ojo and Garrity. Relying on kids…
Gore 19
Weir 22
Walters 18
Mighten 21
Game Changers on the bench Shorrock 16, Dipepa 17
This squad feels worse than the Micheal Brown relegation team.

I need more than a Plumb Porter ! I can't believe that's the 3rd transfer window we have had and FAILED to address the striker situation.
Not over yet.

Honestly I think the window has been a good one
Why do you think that? This is as bad as last January even if Charlie Wyke rumour is true.

Forwards signed by comparable League 1 or League 2 clubs:
Burton: Jonathan Leko, Kyle Hudlin, Antwoine Hackford, Odemola Ola-Abebomi, Joe Hugill
Cambridge: Lyle Taylor, Macauley Bonne
Carlisle: Luke Armstrong, Georgie Kelly
Cheltneham: Matty Taylor, Joe Nuttall
Exeter: Mo Eisa, Millenic Alli
Fleetwood: Ronan Coughlan, Tommy Lonergan
Leyton Orient: Khayon Edwards
Lincoln: Joe Taylor
Wigan: Charlie Kelman
Wycombe: Richard Kone, Gideon Kodua, Bez Lubala
How did all of these clubs manage to sign forwards, whilst we're crapping it with 40 minutes to go?
I've no doubt we'll bring someone in, but the second January in succession we're down to the wire.
I read that list of strikers and to be honest I’m not concerned about our relegation rivals strikers in terms of quality. There’s not many who I think would improve us.
What I am concerned about is our lack of numbers.

Not a chance! I reckon 1 forward and then done!
That’s why I’m concerned mate.
We need Uche replacement
Josh Thomas replacement
Ojo/ Garrity replacement
We are woefully short

Getting concerning now with 1.5hrs left until the deadline.
By my reckoning we still need
2x Strikers
1xCM

Great move for Tommy Mac.
Big congratulations to the lad.

Nice that we have a defender who looks imposing. Looks like he will elbow his nan in the face and kneecap his granddad to win the ball.
I will stay out if his way😀

Fleetwood (A) match thread 3rd Feb

Small pitch at Fleetwood so I don’t have an issue with Lowe as DM. I think our midfield has looked to open with Gore/Sang and Weir at the base so I could understand the logic.
Pray Lofty can turn into Shearer this afternoon.
