Bentley - Alan Smith - Ollie Marland

Had an interesting conversation today with David Worralls(Bury First Team Player) father who went to the game last night which involved the Youth Team, Worrall is best mates with Ryan Lowe and Alan Smith(former Leeds, Man Utd & Newcastle player, now with MK Dons), they were all there watching the game last night and were really impressed by Ollie Marland especially Alan Smith. They said out of the whole team he stood out like a sore thumb as being a class above. He also said both teams defence were awful.

 

Then he went onto say he was speaking to our Chairman who had arrived with 3 others in a Bentley - I said he wasn't our Chairman yet and he said that he knew that but the guy(?Wildes?) had said that he had recieved some very positive news earlier on in the day.

Nice to see our (hopefully) future Chairman taking the time to watch the youth team.

 

I recall the last time I saw our Chairman at a youth team game......he was smugly smiling from his lofty position in the main stand whilst we queued outside waiting to get into the Bycars for the Vale v Chelsea game, - pity he couldn't have taken the time to come down and open another turnstyle!.
