We were in Meigh St car park about 12 months ago when Eddie found a phone on the ground. I had a look for the most used number on it and called it. Turned out it was the daughter of the phone's owner. I offered to return it but she said her mum would collect it from our house. She turned up on our doorstep with a bunch of tulips. We asked if she had come far, she said from Milton - Eddie got talking to her and it turned out he must have taught her daughter, he asked her name and it turned out she was Colin Askey's wife and the great man was sitting in the car outside our house waiting for her! I had to go out and shake his hand!

Colin Askey used to be our insurance man. I can remember the first time he came to collect the money as soon as man dad saw him he said "my god it's Colin Askey!!". He was my dad's boyhood hero and he spent the rest of the evening telling me about the games he used to watch during the fifties. Then every week after that if my dad was home he'd keep him for ages chatting about Vale. A real gent Happy Birthday Colin.
