Political threads on the OVF forum

Hello,

Political threads on OVF seem to divide opinion. Some users hate them and avoid them (that includes me), others can't get enough of the political debates.

So, I am now going to offer a new feature. Similar to the ignore another user feature, I will be offering the ability for you to ignore all the political threads. 

If you "opt out" you won't see political threads on the RH sidebar or be able to read any of the thread content.

To do this, I firstly need to move all the political threads into one forum. So, you will soon see a new "Politics" forum and threads like the Brexit one will move into there. 

Can I ask that if you start a new political thread, you also post it in there too.

When this is set up, please PM me if you want to ignore political threads and I will change your account settings. They can be switched back if you change your mind.

The functionality is done and all the threads have been moved. 

All of you (with the exception of banned and admin) are in a single user group - Members. This group sets your access to the forum and topics.

If you don't want to see any political threads I can now move you to a new usergroup (Members no-politics) - this is identical to the Member group with the exception that you won't be able to view or post in the Politics section. They also won't appear in the RH "latest posts" module either.

If you decide to switch back, I can move you back to "Members" and so on, so it's all very straight forward.

So, just PM me if you want to opt out of political threads 🙂
