I used to read Match and they had this strange thing where if you wrote into the letters page slagging off Vale you'd win star letter. I think there was a Stoke fan who worked there.

Brian Mills' brother wrote in one week to complain that John Rudge wasn't picking him and it managed to get printed.

Even despite all that, Match was better than Shoot.
