In order to help out, rather than you handful of discontented fans having a go at our excellent and dedicated Chairman, why don't you all send him promissory notes, saying:

'One of these days, I promise to give (name six-figure amount) to Port Vale Football Club, in return for £100,000 per annum, 8 business class flights to (name attractive destination), a dead good car, plus regular manicures and pedicures.'

I would, if I didn't have the money. It's standard business practice where I come from. Mind you, the Sentinel would report it (wrongly, of course) as some kind of amusing satirical prank, and it would make him look rather silly - so what would be the point?
