I've been critical of Aspin but there is no doubt that to a degree his hands have been tied. Lainton, Barnett and Davis are on our wage bill. Conlon and Oyeleke are injured. You can argue about the rational of signing players like Vassell, Daniels and Kanu - as well as perhaps keeping the likes of Calveley and Angus. Most of these lads are not even regulars for their loan clubs.

But if we could get some of them off our wage book it would make a big difference and leave space for 2-3 better players.

We do, I agree, seem again to be piling up squad players. One player with a bit of magic could transform this team. Think about the better service Pope and Miller might have if say Eagles was here. Or Marshall. That extra quality/flair is what we VERY badly need.
