The negativity is based on factual information on his scoring record whereas the positivity seems mainly to stem from the thinking he is a great signing just because some bloke paid 1.1m for him, which coincidentally actually might be the reason the price tag and the expectancy at a young age has hampered his development over the past 3 years. We need to forget the amount paid for him and his past because he is playing league 1 football for a reason and hopefully vale will give him that platform to progress

 

Completely agree. Those banging on about him moving for £1.1M need to consider :-

 

1) He was signed with seconds to spare of the August 2011 transfer window (ie desperation time = massively inflated fee). Reference Sheff Utd Director, Scott McCabe's comment: "It was an attractive offer and one we were unable to refuse for what is, essentially, an unproven player."

2) It was Steve Kean that signed him!

 

Hopefully Adams can get him playing to something like his potential, but some seem to think that we're instantly going to have a £1M player on our hands.
