I took my son when he was three, some 14 years ago. Owing to myself and his mother splitting he has resided in Tunbridge Wells for a significant period of time. Living in Kent he has been surrounded by Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea, West Ham and of course United fans. However he is still a Vale fan and a season ticket holder, this is all because he went as to Vale as a youngster. I feel the club must do everything possible to attract and probably keep young fans.

 

Took my son his first game age 5 when we beat macclesfield 1-0 in cup, me and his mother split up and I have always said his love for vale meant as I young lad rather than play with his mates he wanted see me weekends to go vale, like so many kids he could of lost touch with me , but he agrees now aged 32 we have a lot thank port vale for.

I totally agree its all about the future, just wondering what its costing us short time.

 

The short term cost for me are significant, but that is due to the swearing finds your daughter imposes on me during the game.

A fellow Vale season ticket holder questioned my son recently (Orient away) and asked him who he would really like to watch and support as he obviously felt my son supported Vale because of my influence and so he could see me. His response

 

'I support Vale always have always will, I've supported them since the age of three'.

 

Let the Kids in free and fill the ground for years to come.

what is the currant membership of the junior valiants years ago they ran coaches to away games went to Newcastle utd played football against there juniors and also met there then manager one mr kevin keegan any of you older fans remember this.

I think a more relevant question would be what are the statistics involved? What proportion of our fan base are under 12s, and how does that compare to before this incentive and to other clubs that charge for kids?
