  1. Yep, ignore this. The chances of us staying up are very, very slim at this point. 2 of us, Cheltenham, Charlton, and Shrewsbury will join Fleetwood and Carlisle. We will be one of them.
  2. On Moore, he clearly has a fair few qualities as evidenced by his Wednesday stint, but you have to question whether those qualities are the right fit for PVFC in its current situation. I really didn't understand his team selection yesterday. 4231 with 3 narrow attacking midfielders, with neither Chislett or Weir in their right positions. Lopata completely bombed out of a squad that can't keep a clean sheet. Was it just a case of 'get the biggest name in'? It's a really controversial view that will get a load of stick, but we needed a manager who can immediately tighten up a defence on a budget. Perhaps the manager of the team with the fourth-best defensive record in League 1 last season (on a small budget) would have been the better short-term option. I'm still behind him. He's probably a decent option for League 2 next season, and he's been dealt an very difficult hand. However, I'd argue DC was dealt a far worse one at Cheltenham.
  3. I cannot stand Port Vale fans who say 'little old Port Vale'. What point are they trying to make? That we are little? Or that other people say we're little? Why on earth do we repeat it? For our owner to say it just winds me up. Don't repeat it ffs! Whilst Moore is a 'name', he is coming off a disastrous spell at Huddersfield who have massively improved from the second he left. The idea that we should be grateful he's here is patronising. He's here as it was the best offer - not out of altruism for some poor, little club he felt sorry for. Moore is at PVFC's level and that is why he's our manager. Don't try and pretend I should be well chuffed because he's above us, as Carol implies.
  4. 30 defeats in 53. 142nd out of 144 for goals scored since September. All targets - ticked. Good night all. We go again Saturday.
  5. Did we genuinely waste money on a new changing room so that the players had 2: one for training and one for matches? 30 losses in 53.
  6. I honestly think Carol's letter is amongst the maddest things ever to happen to us. It absolutely defies belief. I don't even think Smurthwaite would have the balls to say it. There's serious delusion in that boardroom. Not a single critical voice. Yes-men and family everywhere.
  7. 30 defeats in 53. Dear me! There isn't really anything else to discuss.
  8. Take away that run of 5 wins and 1 draw in Aug/Sept (all by 1 goal, 2 via a penalty and 1 via a wild deflection), and our record reads: Played: 47 Won: 6 Drawn: 11 Lost: 30
  9. We've lost 30 out of 53 in the League. Over the course of the last 53 games, we've picked up 10 fewer points than anyone else in League 1. Carol's letter ticking off a bunch of made-up, retrospective targets conspicuously didn't mention wins, losses, and points. I wonder why.
  10. The fans will keep turning up, mate. The diehards will be there Saturday and will back the players. They want to see a bit of fight. The fans will also get very annoyed on forums post-game - not directing their frustration at the players, but venting on a website with other Vale fans.
  11. I'm really not sure what argument you're making. I said there is a route out for us, but relegation would be really damaging. If we go down, it is at Flitcroft and Carol's door. What about those points are diametrically opposite to each other? I'm not sure you have a clue, mate.
  12. Oh, Dave. If we go down it will have absolutely nothing to do with the fanbase.
  13. What did I say? I said there is a route out. Not sure that's diametrically opposite to 'if we go down' Paul.
  14. One of the few positives is that we looked a bit better against a side which have become pretty good, with a new system we'd worked on for a day. Reading are in really, really good form, especially at home. I'm struggling, but there were flashes of more positive play. Remove the wonder-goal, and do we battle to a point? 6 wins.
  15. Since I became Chair of Port Vale I have made mistakes. Appointing Dave Flitcroft is not one of them.
  16. In all seriousness, there is no way that Carol looks at this calmly and rationally and thinks 'yes, David is doing a good job'. She's either deluded or lying. It's really worrying.
  17. That's genuinely where I'm at. Willing Stoke City FC to win games so they don't come down. I feel sick. What on earth has Carol done?
  18. Norman's foreign legion were better than this. They went down on the last day by a point. Reggie and Chris Mbamba. Dear me!
  19. If Stoke and Crewe are in League 1 next year, and we're in League 2, I'm going to find it extremely difficult.
  20. Why haven't his backroom team been announced formally?
  21. Can someone explain to me how David Flitcroft was responsible for everything football related on a part-time basis, please? What happened on the days he wasn't in?
  22. The thing is, none of this really matters to Dave Flitcroft. Up until last month, he was doing 2 days a week. We were a part-time hobby for him amidst his other 'business interests'. If we go down? Eh. Carol loves him and will blame everyone else, especially those dreadful, abusive fans. It's all part of the long-term plan. Worst case, he gets a lovely payout and can go back to his other interests. The bloke has used us as a toy, trying to run us like Man City for a bit of fun on Tuesdays and Wednesdays before leaving Carol and Paddy to handle it the rest of the week. Anyone with any football experience, like Garlick, are unceremoniously dumped. He's created an atmosphere of supporter-belittlement ("where did everyone go at the end of the Derby game?", the patronising JoeB2Censored). We've got stalwarts like Dicko packing in the fun bus as he's that disenchanted. We've won 11 of 53. A lovely 21% win ratio. Carol thinks Flickers has met all his targets and we're all in the wrong.
  23. There were a few, scant positives there: It was a bit better than we have been recently Mighten looked lively for a bit Weir showed something (though still not convinced) Garrity is fit again However: 3 wins in 27 Nothing in the final third Mayhem at the back Grant is an absolute fraud Moore doesn't have a great track record in relegation battles
  24. Yep, I'm heading the same way. The letter was the final straw. It's not just a disagreement - it's a refusal to even see our perspective and belittling us despite the overwhelming evidence. It just strikes as someone who hasn't a clue what she's doing.
