  1. This thread has certainly covered some ground between criticism and adulation. via everything in between...
  2. There's clearly other things going on that would explain the whole vibe of the Club, both on and off the Pitch, changing as it has. We're not in a good place and what happens over the Summer will be crucial to the future of the Club.
  3. As you say, he needs to be able to put together his own team before anyone can properly judge him. All we can infer for the moment, is that his past performance should mean he will do significantly better than he is now. We keep coming back to the central point that, between them, Flitcroft, Clarke and Crosby managed to collectively destroy the Team and now we need to rebuild.
  4. There's a big difference between personal abuse and justified criticism. What I've seen on here (at least) is the latter, even if sometimes (and inevitably) emotional in it's delivery. As you say yourself, some of her statements have been unacceptable and it's quite right that she's called out on them. OK, she's been badly advised and let down by Flitcroft and others who have got us into our present predicament but the buck stops with her and she needs to learn some hard lessons. Not least, that the fanbase has already learnt those hard lessons over the years and doesn't appreciate being ignored, especially when it leads directly to our present predicament. Owning and running a Football Club, particularly at the less exalted end of the Foorball League, is far from a conventional business exercise. So, she needs to find a way to make the management of the Club more inclusive in the future for both her and our sakes...
  5. As we see from the past, either model can work but you need to decide what you want and then hire the right people to suit that management model. We are between stools at the moment and you are right to point out the weaknesses of our Owners as regards football.
  6. It is to me and you but to her? I'm not so sure, don't you know how saintly they are? This sort of thing shouldn't happen to people like them.
  7. I can't imagine the Shanahans wanting to stick around next year if (when) we are relegated. The humiliation will be total. That said, who could they off-load the Club to, having destroyed most of the value in it other than as a property development opportunity?
  8. Nothing to worry about then, all is well in the World, thanks Carol...
  9. I completely agree that poor recruitment is at the bottom of our woes but that said, how on earth does the team manage to get comfortably ahead in the first half and then completely collapse in the second half as we seem to keep doing now? What's going on there? Moore has to take some responsibility for that.
  10. It's hard to know where to start with any sensible critique of this game, as there was just so much wrong with it as regards both management tactics and player performances in the second half. Completely unacceptable. Carole needs to seek out some solid advice on her next steps in the summer, as following on from what looks like our inevitable relegation this year, if this continues for another season she will be closing the doors on this Club. What a mess...
  11. The Shanahans have done great things for this Club and we are incredibly lucky that they got involved. Their obvious and terrible error, was to trust Flitcroft and then to maintain that trust for far too long. Doing what they eventually did in removing him even a couple of weeks earlier would have made a big difference to where we are now. It's where their obvious loyaltly to their people has let them down in a big way. We just have to hope we can stay up and then regroup next season under an new coaching set up that works for the Vale. They should consult far and wide in doing that, including with past Vale luminaries that were obviously and foolishly excluded in the recent past under the Flitcroft regime. Everyone makes mistakes, it's learning from them and correcting what went wrong that matters now.
  12. It's still doable but last night's goal difference is definitely not helping. We're very much in 'hoping others do worse' territory now...
  13. It could be that he's finally found what's required but it's simply too much of a coincidence to me that it's all happened immediately after Mr. "in charge of everything football on and off the pitch" exits stage left...
  14. Surely we can only really judge him post Flitcroft, so that's not even a month yet. He's made a lot of very useful progress since then and if we can keep this going, then we can and will stay up.
  15. Think positively. A win is not out of the question and a draw is eminently possible - just depends on which Vale side turns up...
  16. The only reason the Smurf would be interested would be because of side opportunities in property development etc. but as you say, that doesn't look something the present Owner would be unaware of, or unable to exploit himself. No doubt he's also fully aware of Norman's reputation - luckily for Tranmere, he's way out of Norman's league...
  17. Important point against decent opposition away. Got to take some credit for that but we need to win one to get any sort of security...
  18. What gets me is the issue of not listening to the Supporters. I realise they don't have a footballing background and that their business experience is completely unrelated but people with their obvious ability and intelligence should have been able to identify the vast wealth of knowledge and experience available to tap into from the Supporters. It's a near unique situation not available to other businesses and yet they didn't just ignore it, they sneered at it. That went well didn't it...
  19. I won't be, I will hold them responsible for their insane devotion to Flitcroft, and which went on for so long despite the obvious need to replace him. So much so, that we are now up against it and this loss is a big deal if we want to stay up...
  20. It's doable but we need more commitment than we saw on Saturday - there was no excuse for that outcome.
  21. Disappointing to say the least. Showed up all our weak points in case we'd forgotten what they were after the last few games. Moore knows what is required, so I hope he can turn it around for the next game, as we can't afford to drop any more like this. We certainly can't rely on others to be worse...
