  1. Jean, how come you have such a good knowledge of NUFC.?
  2. If we can manage to stay up and cant offload Loft, perhaps we need to be a bit more resourceful and play him at centre half. The only problem I can think of is would we need permission from SoT council, for a loft conversion.
  3. If we were to sign DG, perhaps he could come on a deal similar to what Cruyff had when he returned to Ajax who were going through a bad time. He wasn’t on any regular amount, he knew what the average crowd was and he received 50% of the gate above the average. That would motivate anyone.
  4. Phil, I haven’t listened to the podcast and no one deserves any type of abuse and his family definitely shouldn’t. I don’t think he would object to fans questioning his role or having been told that he’s responsible for everything that touches the ball, requesting that he stands aside.
  5. JRC, surely we should have been active and not just relying on one person. Especially with our form.
  6. Emile, surely we wouldn’t appoint someone because of the formation that they play. We need to be more fluid and not so rigid, depending on who we play. We need to make the opposition think about what formation we’re going to play during the game, not days beforehand. Isn’t that the whole idea of not releasing the team until just before the game. I hope DM is his own man and plays different formations to our strengths. I was in a private message the other day with someone on here, so they can take the credit for this question. We spent nothing in the transfer window, but then we’ve suddenly found the money to appoint DM his backroom staff and we’ll still need a forward and possibly other players.
  7. So are you saying we only had one iron in the fire, so no plan B then.
  8. MBE, thank you very interesting and enlightening. It details the all complications and just how protracted it can be to sign a player. With this knowledge it must be very frustrating for a football club when it takes so long to identify a player and then to get the deal done. It could take a whole window from start to finish, just to bring a player into a club. This makes me ask the question as our season was falling apart, why was AC allowed to continue as our manager after the beginning of December.? The manager must have some say in who he would like to come into the club, it can’t just be the decision of the DoF.
  9. From the late equalisers, some one up above was looking after us last night. Long may it continue
  10. I think Carol started reading OVF and that’s how she found DM.
  11. Fosse, I’d hardly refer to any of our players as studs.
  12. The statement reminds me a bit of a game of poker to see who blinks first. She may have just pushed her luck too far with some people.
  13. Some time ago the private box owners were invited to VP and provided with a meal and some drink. They didn’t know the purpose of the request to attend, however later they were asked if they’d donate money to refurbish the RW suite. During Covid they were also told that they had to pay the full price for their boxes, even though they couldn’t attend. It was not open to negotiation. When asked what they would get they were told they could watch the games on tv, it was pointed out that they could do this for £10 a game on ifollow.
  14. Bill, have we heard from Kevin since the club was purchased. I don’t know if he has any involvement apart from his role in the purchase of the club, which I thank him for doing. So unless anyone can tell me any difference then how can he be held to account for our current situation.
  15. Daz, she won’t she says that. She’s even given him a full time contract. She obviously thinks the proverbial sun shines from you know where. It’s alright in February holding your hands up,coming out saying we’ve made mistakes. On the whole we’ve made mistakes in the transfer window and everyone could see in late October early November that we would end up in the position we now find ourselves in. So why has nothing been done until now. Is it too late to rectify our position in the league. I’d suggest that it is, we flirted with relegation last season and this is what happens to teams that do that.
  16. Just look at what teams around us did in the January transfer window. That’ll be the making of us being relegated. Anyone can see we are not a goal threat to them and to get a win we need to score at least two because we start one nil down, just by the team selected. I heard Souness on Talksport this week. He was on about passing the ball sideways. They got a rollicking off Ronnie Moran who stated the ball had to go forward as he at 50 years of age could play and pass it sideways or backwards. Luke Joyce used to do it but he was protected by other midfielders similar to a quarter back, to allow him to pick out a forward pass. The difference being we only had one Luke Joyce now got a team of Luke Joyce’s.
  17. Darren. TBH I think if he had got into the dug out, it would have cost a lot in security
  18. My Hatters mate went to Newcastle on Saturday and told me to research Gabriel Osho, who tore NUFC apart. It’s quite interesting that he’s played most of his career at non league.
  19. Darren, did you let him in to your house.?😱
  20. Jean, it’s a common managerial comment. Then if everything goes wrong they’ll be able to say that the plan wasn’t given a chance no matter how bad things were. Also they’ll think it guarantees them a living for five years. She obviously thinks otherwise or she wouldn’t have made him permanent. They’re as bad as one another, we’ve been sliding down the table and are now where we deserve to be. What has been done about it. Apparently we’ve signed over fifty players and now looking for our fourth manager. This highlights very poor decision making skills. The facilities used by the majority of normal fans are decrepit. However she keeps talking about big projects, both have lost the plot. Unfortunately the people will vote with their feet especially for next season
  21. Rob, I agree and a lot of vacancies have been filled using nepotism and cronyism, two ingredients that eventually lead to failure. Patrick Shanahan replaced CG if I’m correct with little to no knowledge or experience of this roll in football. So do you think that this faux pas, is down to DF has he has been in the game long enough and it would have been his area of business.?
  22. Jean whilst I agree, probably our last roll of the dice in getting any serious investment.
