  1. Better training facilities, better pitch, better academy (plus I dare say he has to deal with a shed load of admin everyday). Few seem willing to acknowledge that these are also things that flitcroft is overseeing and as far as I can tell are progressing well. For once we have owners who see the importance in building the foundations for the long term but they're up against fans who judge things game by game and want success here and now.
We are not far off being mid table and that is pretty much where I expected us to be this season. We have injured players coming back. Every chance of making history in the League cup and a good chance of progressing into the 3rd round of the fa cup.
Ok, we are in a bad run, the striker situation is frustrating and I would agree that this January is last chance saloon in terms of striker recruitment but I'm pretty sure flitcroft and the recruitment team don't need reminding of this by fans' sarcastic replies every time Vale put out a tweet.
Crosby knows he's under pressure and if results don't pick up then he will be shown the door; but I really don't see how getting rid of someone who takes a lot of the day to day pressure off the manager (whoever that is) benefits anyone.
Tbf the gaffer looked exhausted in his post match last night. I'm glad he got a result, and I'm not bothered HOW we got it. I hope we can get one against Wigan to ease the pressure on him a bit more, then we will be in a much much better place. Wigan is a big game, as a loss for them will drag them down the table a bit, a win for us and we creep up the table abit.

  2. Sang has improved, while Clark and Plant are good options at RWB. Gibbons can do a job on the left; although he doesn't answer the lack of a proper LWB who can cross with his left. If we'd signed Gibbo we'd still be overloaded with right footed wingbacks. At least Grant might be back and hopefully fit for the rest of the month. What we desperately need is someone left footed to play LWB.
Imagine actually having a left footed LWB
  3. I'll still be happy and clappy even IF we are out of two cup competitions this time next week - let's be fair, we have entered one of those cup competitions well over 100 times now and still never even got to the Final. As for the other, I think it's over 60 years and we have possibly the worst record in that competition of all the current league teams and have never got past this stage at all so it won't be much of a surprise to see us again capitulate.
It's impossible to predict today if we will actually be out of both competitions but you seem convinced, almost as if you want us to lose both games. For the life of me I can't understand why, I can only assume it's to satisfy your lust for failure so you can come on here and spout your diatribe.
It's not all roses and if you think any 'Happy Clapper' is happy with current results then you really are deluding yourself, I doubt anyone is happy with the current form but the season is 46 games long with cup games to add - just look down the road 5 miles, this time two weeks ago they all wanted the manager gone, now he's the new Messiah.
If trying to see the bigger picture and backing the owners, management and team rather than belittling everything possible is being a "fries short of a happy meal" then I'd rather be that than walk one footstep in your shoes.

Nice one Fred. I don't understand why some of the guys on here even support Vale, it's bizarre.

  4. Interesting this happy clappers stuff and the way it's belittled and frowned upon.
Anyone would think we were a massive club constantly pushing for Europe and flying up the top leagues with absolutely no room for error, with our multi million pound team and bench. With the best manager money can buy
We're not. We are Vale take the rough with the smooth.
Get behind the lads, that's all they are, young lads, support them and your team through thick and thin.
Or you could just slate everything about our club with delusions of grandeur.

  5. So a mental start to the season sees us joint top of the league and undefeated in 7 since the bizarre opening day.
A window that's seen us sign 14 players. Some on loan from premiership teams. Some called up for international duty .
The transfer window, IMHO, has been immense. Our owners spent over a mill extra on budget and infrastructure last season. Some how we have strengthened, have a dynamic, fast midfield.
And as for defence, with smudge and the yak we are stronger, but managed to SELL players, but as it seems get better in,hence making a profit in the transfer window. Incredible and kudus to the balanced and mature way we are pushing forwards in.
We are thought of highly enough to have England 21's on loan, and what a joy they are. Just incredible.
It comes down to a few people, Carol, Flitters and above all Andy Crosby
Its the gaffers guidance and vision that pushes us forward, his players, nothing more, nothing less. He's immense.
Iabsolutely love where we are at, every single aspect and never doubted the gaffer, especially when he was appointed, he's a step up from DC, yep you heard it, a step up in so many aspects of our club.
Its all good, it's all rosey, we will have hiccups of course, but just look, look at what's going on, on and off the field.
VTID we fear no one We are Vale Happy clapping all the way mofos

  6. Yes.  He's also put money behind the bar in several places where he's played recently so that people can have a beer on him before they come to his gig.  Think thats superb!
Did it at the Coachmakers by Hanley Bus station

Well my point is, this is a forum. You're getting your knickers in a twist because I'm expressing an opinion that differs to your own here. I give praise when I feel it's due and I'm also not afraid of handing out what I feel is deserved criticism on a football forum when, in my eyes, it's warranted. If you don't want to express a negative opinion or be critical of our staff and/or players then that's your choice. Just don't throw a hissy fit when others do.
Er, this is the happy clappers section, thanks

  8. Big shout out to the happy clapper on twitter at 7am Sunday morning. He'd obviously been up all night drowning his sorrows and posted that he just wanted to give the gaffer a massive hug and that he will be re living every moment of the game over and over, so he just wanted to give him a massive hug and tell him everything will be ok
